Opening Premiere, click to create a new project. You will be directed to a screen with several different options to create a video specially with models for color systems such as PAL, NTSC, HDV and even mobile devices. The default is Standard > NTSC 48 kHz, so let's select it. (If you have more experience with the program, you can customize your settings by clicking the Custom Settings tab.) Give a name for your project and click Ok.

The basic interface of Premiere is divided into projects (1), (2), timeline (3), tools (4), sound (5) and monitors (6). You can modify it any way you deem fit, bastanto drag tabs from one side to another across the screen. This way you customize the interface of Premiere for the most convenient way possible.

Importing and editing videos

You can import the videos and sound files will use one of two ways: by dragging directly from Windows Explorer into the program or going to the menu File > Import. After doing this wait that the program will read all files

All your files will appear in the Project. You can watch or listen to any one of them giving a double-click, so it will open on your monitor. You can also create folders (Bins) to better organize your files, e.g. files, videos and sounds.

To add one of the clips in your project, simply drag it to the timeline. But if you want to grab only a snippet of it, it is recommended that you double-click to appear on the monitor before. So you can set a start point and an end point (2) of the part you want to use that file. There is only dragging Monitor for the timeline.

You can repeat this process and add as many videos you want in the timeline. The same goes for audio files: you can choose only a snippet and add them in the timeline, positioning them under video clips. Monitor right you preview your work by clicking Play.

The effects can be found in the Video Effects folder, clicking the tab Effects. You can choose any one of them and drag a video clip in the timeline. The control is done in the area of the left monitor, simply click on the tab Effect Controls to view the settings. And it is precisely in these settings you will adjust the intensity of the effect and how it will work. In the case of this example, we use the Lens Flare (burning lens), an effect that has as its position and intensity of the glow.
