For me, there are several reasons:

 

1. Gm don't know exactly how long. If they said but can not achieve, gamers will complain a lot like the past we saw. How do you feel when you try the best and other people just complain you?
2. The competitors will know what they are doing. They will have plan for coping, attacking or lauching new promotion... 
3. Gm want gamers wait and hope for new update. They want to keep gamers alway stay in forum, discuss and hope for something new, even they complain about no info given also good for server.

=> operation strategy.

 

Just my opinion. 

 

 

 

 

Weird strategy because the longer it takes I feel more inclined to abandon Wartale and try another one. The only reason I probably won't do this is because as far as I know Wartale is the most well-rounded and quality server out there.

Weird because people invest money on the game. At least we need to know what happens. If GM say he can update for Saturday and he can't afford it, he can apologize. The problem begin when nobody know nothing. Lack of knowledge only bring caos. I'm not Catholic I want to play this weekend ?

For new server, it's so weird and bad strategy. But, for Wartale, a strongest server with a lot of big donation from players, it is not weird.

• For almost 155+, 16x+ players, they will not leave server (some don't play game recently but still have char) because they invest a lot here.
• Wartale is highest free quality server with english language. Everyone leave server for some reasons but they have to come back because no server is better.
• Wartale have a lot of gamers playing here.

Almost long-time playing gamers know this situatio. Beside that we still have many issues like lag, unbalance between chars... not yet be solved and Wartale still alive ^^. Because they have built a strong server like you built a strong company. If there is no better company, your company is monopoly and customer have to buy from you. kkk

As i said, in the past they alway gave info but for some cases, they will not give due to some reasons listed above.

Do you have Wartale canculation? They can notify you when server is back online. No need to stay in forum only to watch server status.

Think outside the box, dont be just one sided... there are no chaos if you think for the benefit of the game. And having a long maintenance without ETA or information is annoying, again what can you help?

In current year where social media and communication is key for any business. I would humbly disagree with most of your opinions. 

 

1. This point is valid but having an ETA and extending the maintenance duration if they have to would be nice. There are plenty of other games who does this and everyone understands where they are coming from.

 

2. ?????

How is this even a reason? Do you think as a business you can come up with promotions on the fly without any planning prior to releasing it? If you think by telling people they are working on something, other servers can just intercept this information and start coding their own to "copy" from here?  The fact that this server has been online for the longest time and with unique content of their own shows how difficult it is to survive as a server of their own.

GMs and admins doesn't even post here much. If they want people to post more on forums then they themselves should create discussions to get people involved.

I love Wartale. Obviously I'm going be there when server is back. Only have a frustration because I'm a freelancer and have a break in between projects and have a plenty time to know more of the game and help my clan. Now I start a project tomorrow and it is sad :(. Hope wartale back soon !

I do not know the reason that GM does not report the evolution of maintenance to the wartale comminity, I imagine that would be the least that server should do.

 

So GM explain/report something to us.

Sure there are a lot of old players who invested tons of money and time in this game. But in order to truly keep the server alive, they have to not make the new players leave. New players who just started playing this and now have to wait 3 days or more to play the game again. The motivation and spark are both probably gone by now. Honestly a simple post would suffice here. How long more for till its done. We have already waited for 3 days. Them saying they need another 3 days wouldn't hurt anymore. It will only do good for now.

May be you can ask them you will donate around 200~300kc/month. It can make your word more stronger.

Many players have hoped the info, complained a lot or said they will quit game but sure it made no effect. ^^
