What exactly are they?

Recommended Posts

So I have been playing with different builds of PRS just to see what I can come up with "outside the box".

And I'm Curious what exactly the difference between ABS and Defense are.

I have like 1600 defense and 104 abs but with a little tweaking I can get 1800 defense and 102 abs.

Which would be better for tanking larger spawns or tougher mobs?

I'm not really interested in what a PRS should do or any of that nonsense, just the stats.

I appreciate any help.

1600 def and abs 104 VS  1800 def and abs 102

i will choose def 1800 abs 102

trust is abs best for tank monster

but compare with diff 200 def  or diff 2 abs

for me 200 def > 2 abs

1 abs does not equal 100 def.

100 def will give you 1 abs

they are not the same thing

1 abs= absorbs 1 hp of damage inflicted

100 defense = not sure if its vs. attack rating for hit or miss, or if its something else entirely???

thats the problem i dont know what exactly def does, i just know it should be high.

defence is your ability to block? not be hit? perhaps. abs is how much damage you can absorb obviously. essentially i assume in an attack it first goes defence, if it gets past that, it rolls for blocking and evade if you fail you get hit with monster dmg - abs. at least, that makes sense but this game never really made much sense over the years so, who knows.

well i do not know if its a simplest and good explain but:

when a monsters does any attack, your defenses works (obvious but it does) on next steps

? dude , this i do not know : monsters can miss hit by itself? O.o!

1st

You can evade or block any attack, meaning 0 damage deal.

2nd

If the attack is affected by your defense, meaning if your defense is 1000 and the power of damage are 1000 or less, you shall not be damage 'cause your defense was enough

3rd

If your defense was not enough is when the attack will attack your HP, but after this could happens works your final defense and this is the absorb.  so, if the monsters deals 1100 of damage, your defense is 1000; means 100 damage, then (if you have, 20 points of absorb) your HP will be down by 80 points of damage.

NOTE: please, my mother language its Spanish, sorry for my bad English, i have not practiced since to long time ago.

^^!

I just want to see GMs put the damage formula here (DEf, ABS, BLOCK, HP order).

i think it works like this:

when the monster attak you, there is a procces that takes 3 steps minimum.

1st the block rate - the % of hits in order to your shield block

if the block didnt succeeded its go on to your evade (if you have some % of this skill)/ deffence - 2nd, in wild gues, if the att rat of the monster is like your deff rat there is 50% that the hit doesnt effect on your life. (probably, practicular, there isnt 100%)

and then comes the abs - that minimize the optional damage which got to your life. and i am not sure that 1 abs point is only equal to 1 health point, something like 1 abs for 3 health would be more sensible

plz corect me if its wrong - i really wants know that
