Zero 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2011 Time to give this a STOP. GMs, kindly assign 2-3 reputable players to test on all the skills and let them feedback to you guys and save all the hassle of players asking about this all the time. Thanks ^^ Reputable does not mean skilled or smart, that can be a variety of factors usually the number one being level which has little to do with knowing how to effectively test/give feedback. I'm sure they already have a team that does that stuff or sandurr just does it alone. I don't see how limiting feedback will help, 2-3 people alone can not represent an entire class population, which is why we can all voice ourselves on the forum. That also won't solve everyone is still ultimately bias towards their own class, which is the hardest part about getting objective feedback.
-BLiiND- 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2011 yes indeed. . 2-3 wont represent a whole class subjects ingame . .the way they release the skills are good enough . .so after a skill as been release it can be talk right away at forums . my concern is that . .they should start a topic on what they think about the release skills . .so changes can be done

babyarcher 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2011 when i said reputable doesnt mean high lvl .... gm should know who is skillful n experience in the class ... when you said reputable it just means they have a reputation, which can be attained through different things, not necessarily skill or class. you shouldn't assume so much, you seem to enjoy doing it alot

Selected players are assigned in this testing and i hope this is happening in rpt too ... Perhaps that is the reason we're not on those other mmorpgs? ;p. Jokes aside, player testing should only really help with finding bugs, since you need lots of people to play through it multiple times so that they can work out every which way a certain event [like the t5 quest] can happen. I'm pretty sure they already did this with the t5 quest [remember the "testers only!" situation on tier5 prior to the official release]. If you meant for testing purposes only then I don't see the problem, but if you want them to do more than test and give their opinions then read below: -As far as feedback goes it is hard to determine who is qualified for that. I guarantee you no one is going to look at a 9x and think they're skilled, despite the fact the person who plays that 9x might destroy everyone else if everyone had the same level/gear. Skill and analysis are also two different things, some people are just good at copying what others do [gear/skill build/stat build wise] and excel at using it better than they do. So they can be skilled but may not understand why what they do is good or how their class fits in with the others as a whole. Much the same, you can be good at analyzing but poor in skill [you may understand soccer better than anyone else but that doesn't mean you will be a good soccer player]. -This creates a problem, if you get skilled players then you may not have proper analysis. If you get analyzers, you may not have people who are executing the class to the fullest potential which must be done to get the proper comparisons necessary for analysis. This is why limiting feedback to a small group is not a good idea. Its rare that you have people that have all 3 selections factors: reputation, skill, objective analysis. The person that most consistently does this is probably 3R, but aside from him can you really name 2-3 per class that could do all of that? Also keep in mind 3R does play more than one class, which can also make things more complicated.
