The chimera seem to be just like an aura, it's a buff effect, not a real pet... at least I think

 

So it won't die absorbing damage

It's a buff, and detects pike's since they can get 100% invisible at t5. So seems pretty usefull tough it hasn't got alot of features

The Chimera of Light is a real pet (havent you seen the pics?)

The abs is referring to the abs stats of the Chimera ofc.

 

IF your Chimera was to have 100% abs it would take no dmg, never.
