Friendly reminder about using bad language in-game

Recommended Posts

I think the rule against using trade chat for trash-talking is great! I have in the past tried blocking trash-talking spammers to avoid seeing their messages but blocking a user doesn't seem to block their trade chat messages. Maybe you could implement this function so we can block people who spam trade chat.

One doubt:

Offenses will be considered only in English?

You have to post and translate to staff

I think more than half of players are BR... which reflects in support demand.

Going from 0 to at least 1 BR moderator would be a huge boost in many factors...

Wartale is the only game I ever played to be so lenient with toxic behavior, a game without a rule against toxic behavior (that includes bad language, offense towards someone, spamming, etc) is a game faded to be polluted and filled with hatred.

This makes me sad, since it is unmatched in regards of features and optmizations in PT community, but it is the worse in regards of a clean, healthy community.

Wartale is the only game I have seen process this kind of report.

After this reminder thing doesn't really getting any better so consider this message as FINAL WARNING.

I can promise you that when we put the rule back you will be VERY SORRY for using bad language in game.

Regards,

Wartale

Great idea bringing this back! Hopefully this will encourage people to think twice before being toxic. Their childish behavior not only gives the server a bad reputation but also ruins the experience for players.

How about  provoking??? Words with Mule, cry pet, D oG and etc??? Does it include in the rule you put back??? I am a casual player and when i go to BC i always get provoke and insulted. Although i didnt show any sign to response to that nonsense uneducated attitude. If you want some morale in the game (better start on implementing of the rules)

That would be nonesense. One thing is saying toxic words, another thing is just provoking with regular words. We all know here the difference between them.

I think it may be the only game to have a single person processing a single bad language report individually. Actually vast majority of games process this kind of report, although on a more automatized / efficient way. For example, in League of Legends, when a player reaches a certain aumont of reports above a set threshould, then someone will read it and then apply a very fair and strong penalty:

1- Chat disabled (can't communicate whatsoever with anyone)
2- Match Delay and low priority (this is something specific to the game, since it is based on match-making. Could be adapted in something like, no exp gain in PvP, negative scoring for the Clan in Siege Wars, Extra Exp Points for enemy clans, drop penalty, like, can only see public drops after a few seconds, and other stuff )
3- Complete ban (player can't log into the game for a month
4- Permanent ban and PC ban (both Hardware-ID and Mac Address)

Also most games has word filters and when you spam them a lot of times, that, again, reach a certain threshould, you get banned, even if the word is filtered and not displayed for others.

I gave up on  reporting bad stuff and the community as a whole when i've collected tons of screenshots and actually did the staff a favor on correctly translating and adapting the offense (since a word in, for example, portuguese is offensive, it may not be in english), for many reports to be rejected.

I wonder if it will become true. The excuse of "PvP is a competitive place and bad behavior is tolerated" shouldn't exist anymore, because for me it's the top reason to why the Staff is so lenient with toxicity to begin with. PvP, PvE, MvP(Boss Hunting), whatever it might be, any kind of toxic behavior should not be tolerated.

Add new rule:

Toxic in trade chat = needs 1 report in forums or gm see it game  to get punished.

Toxic in other chats = needs 3 different reports in forums of 3 different occasions in order to gm check the case. If all 3 reports are valid, punishment is applied.

If player has only 1 or 2 reports the case is temporarily ignored.

Nonsense?  But when you provoke a person, do you think its okay to just ignore it? You play this game for fun and to make friends. When you provoke a person you insult him/her by inciting anger towards other person. Don’t tell all the people to just ignore it because you cant control their emotions/feelings. I am just citing some points if the staff can include this attitude towards the game. But if not then its okay.

From Monday 07/10/2019, we will reinstate the bad language rule. Using any kind of bad language toward other intentionally or because of being provoked in public will lead to heavy punishment. Our staff will decide which one is considered as bad language when you are making a report.
