Updated Xp + Hunt Assassin Guide

So, while the servers are down, I decided to write all the information I have gathered about Assassin in the last week.

 

I bought an Assassin 144 a week ago while having 0% knowledge about this char (but 100% passion!), so I asked high level players some questions about skill build / stat build and item build.

Note that I am not considering myself a decent / pro Assassin, but I do have some intermediate knowledge about this char regarding PVE only (I have no idea about PVP).

 

Stat and Item build:

 

Assassin is a melee char that requires high Agility, however, the Assassin lacks attack rating.

If you invest too much in Agility, you lose a lot of damage, while if investing in Strength you never hit your 1v1 abilities.

For that problem we have 2 solutions:

Dream solution: 142 / 138 Daggers & 140+ Brac & Throne set All DNT Bsol / +24.

Affordable solution: 0-0 Daggers & 106 Brac with minimum Agility req & preferred Boss Set: 1 (64 spirit) or 3 (80 spirit).

 

If you already have the "Dream solution" you may skip this subject.

- What is so special about 106 Brac? Many people actually use it on Prs, Ss, Ms and even Ks and Ps because they want to maximize their Strength stat with the low Agility req of the Brac.

- But why 106 Brac? why not 100 or 120 Brac? The answer is, that 106 Brac has the minimum Agility req for 138 / 142 Daggers.

- Assassin has low attack rating and you suggest to go for even lower attack rating Brac?? Well, yes! Since we already have low attack rating, we want to "ditch" this stat and go for minimum Agilityso we can actually maximize Strength and ONLY use Pollute + Shadow Bomb + Normal Attack for PVE.

- Normal Attack!? You read it right! The Deception skill grants you an absurd amount of attack rating until your next skill. Nevertheless, the skill does not wear off if you use Normal Attacks. Assassinhas VERY high attack speed which makes your normal attacks combined with critical hits feel like you are actually using a skill like Chain Lancer or Avenging Crash.

 

Full affordable build: 

Brac 106 Minimum Agility.

Hell Gaunts.

Guardian Boots.

Boss set Minimum Spirit.

Armor 128 / 132 / 136 (AT LEAST +20). Since Assassin has high damage, defensive stats are your best friends, especially for solo.

Best daggers you can afford with priority for high age, obviously.

 

Skill build:

 

Tier 1:

- Dual Wield Mastery - No need to explain about this, useful passive.

- Wisp - Optional. We don't need skill points in this one before we walk into SS map (although you can invest some points here earlier if you hunt bosses).

 

Tier 2:

- Blade Mastery - No need to explain about this, useful passive.

- Alas - VERY important. 12% Evasion for you and for your party. Always have this skill working when fighting.

- Soul Shock - Optional. I use this if I want the enemy to focus my crystal or when I need to diminish the mobs on SoD. (currently I am lvl 144 and this skill has 7 points).

 

Tier 3:

- Inpes - +25% attack speed. Always have this skill working when fighting.

- Deception - 18 move speed, 100% attack rating boost and more other utility. Use this skill only if you do not want other mobs to lure to you (maps 140 144).

 

Tier 4:

Fatal Mastery - No need to explain about this, useful passive.

Pollute - One of the bread and butter skills for PVE. High range non-targeted circle AOE skill with poison chance. Basically you want to apply poison by spamming this skill.

 

Tier 5:

Shadow Bomb - The second bread and butter PVE skill. Can be used on left click (targeted) or right click (non-targeted). Has the same range as pollute but the downside is that it does not hit in circle around you, but in circle in front of you. Spam this skill until burn is applied.

 

Honorable Mentions:

Finishing Blow - The only skill that grants some attack rating along with attack damage boost. If you have enough attack rating to hit without Deception spam this skill instead of Normal Attack.

Venom Thorn - Strong 1v1 skill that needs high attack rating. Can be used with Deception for higher chance of hitting (skill will break afterwards).

Frost Wind - Useful for 1v1 to freeze the target. Can be used with Deception for higher chance of hitting (skill will break afterwards).

 

Rest of the skills are either useless or only used for PVP, which I will not cover in this guide.

 

 

Playstyle:

 

Always apply all your active buffs (Deception is depending on if you want to lure mobs or not, but in hunt maps you want it anyway).

 

DIQ: If you invest enough health stat, you can actually lure on this map (with good gear and VL). But basically you want to be a killer. Just spam Pollute and Shadow Bomb until the poison / burn are applied, and then switch to Pollute due to its high range and extra damage vs mutants.

 

SL / SS / CT3 / ET1: Use crystals if needed (mostly for solo). Spam Pollute until poison is applied, switch to Shadow Bomb and spam it until burn is applied, then switch to normal attack (for 1v1 only) and attack the mob you want. Use Wisp on high damage monsters (like Rock on SS).

If you want to kill more than one mob at a time, keep using your AOE abilities. Pollute is higher range and safer with extra damage to mutants, Shadow Bomb is lower range with slightly more damage and extra damage vs normal mobs.

 

Iron Core / AD3: Just spam one skill or alternate between the two, it doesn't really matter. It is very important to have decent defensive items since you cannot use skills with 1 handed weapon.

 

SoD: Assassin is one of the best SoD char, but struggles with weak defensive gear. Use any buff you can (Mp regen, Mp usage, Stm usage, 10 Abs, Oredo / Sap / Sol force and etc...). DO NOT use Deception until you decide you want to run from mobs (rounds 7+).

On rounds 1 - 5 (or 6 if you survive) you want to use a costume that grants attack speed.

Round 1: Web has high range so Pollute's range is not enough. Run from side to side while using Pollute once to bring down a chunk of mobs.

Round 2: More ranged mobs, use Shadow Bomb once or twice on the nearest melee enemy, repeat on the other side (without moving).

Round 3: Not different from all classes. Keep running to kill machines, but do not forget to kill all other mobs also.

Round 4 - 5: This is where Assassin shines. Just use Pollute without moving from the center for fastest DPS.

Round 6: If you can tank without moving, this round will not be too much different from 4 and 5. First you go for the boss and use AOE skills (try to hit as many mobs as you can ESPECIALLY the witches that drain your mana). Do not overlook these witches and try to move just a little to have a better angle so you hit them.

Round 7: You either run (if you have bad gear) or you summon crystals (Valento is high priority since he can slow enemies). You can also use Soul Shock on several monsters while going for the others.

Round 8: I don't really know if Assassins can actually do something here solo even with full end game gear. Either way, it is similar to round 7 explanation.

 

 

That's it for now. I will update this guide whenever I feel like I missed something or if someone suggests anything that I believe has a place in here.

I hope the phrasings and spellings are all good, I will also try to improve it with edits. I don't usually post long posts so I don't know how to make it look more organized.

I do have a question I'm currently lvl 98 and plan to do the build you mentioned, as I LVL tho what should I put my stats in once I Hit min agil req? do I do Str/Agil balance, and maybe some health? or should I go pure str/agil build?  or put enough str for the higher armor and rest into agil? I currently have boss set so min spirit.

As I said, attack rating is "useless" on lower levels before you get brac 140.

Either way, you never go pure agi. Always go for minimum agi + pure str.

If you feel like you need some stat in spirit or health, it is ok, but at lvl 132+ you should reset to pure str.

let's be honest: nobody wanted tier5 in the short term, the gm just threw some sweets to calm the complaints about the up in SS, it turns out that some sweets were rotten.

Acctually, Ass is very good char.

She is combination of Ps and As with high Crit and Eva.

But i do not know why player do not choose her.

can't train without pris in SS map =)) . so no one choose Assasin . even you have Pristess for tanker but sometime will die . and about the video . u don't up skill passive (area evasion) ? my ass same item lv 153 got atk rtg ~ 2500 ??

Assassin got buff last december, +30% atk rate.

 

 

Also, don't need prs on SS, just git gud ?

If talking about only melee.

For PVE, Ass tank better in SS than PS, FS and kill better than KS, MS power, BS.

For PVE, they are also good as other char.

Maybe not many people try Ass so they do not know.

The normal attack concept is 100% outdated.

There was a patch that made atk rating relevant for all chars.

 

I don't play Ass anymore, but the finishing blow is 100% working as main dmg skill, like every other char.
