is element resistance any useful?

found in most defense equipment. there is even a mix exclusive for that for armors and robes. the magician has a skill that increases it. but how actually useful is it? what % of mobs or what key mobs have attacks based in elements that having a resistance would be most nicely/convenient? do mobs have these resistances too? do elemental based attacks from the characters influence in anything or just specific skills against specific monster types? the only example i can think of is lightning type attacks comboed with the magician's watornado.

Yeah elemental resistance reduces the damage taken by % and/or reduce the duration of negative effects such as poison and freeze , while organic resistance reduce the duration of stuns.You can check the damage type by the icon close from damage count when you hit a monster or receive damage.

but how about pve? i can see elemental atributes in damage received in pvp but nothing about pve. does freeze resistance affect freeze damage and slow by ice monsters and webs? do organic resistance also resists against chimera and bloody knight, for example? do they have resistances? is ice meteorite from priestess weaker on ice mobs and flame wave from magician weaker on fire mobs like mobs from iron core or kelvezu cave?
