Around what point do you stop mixing your main weapons/armor and begin aging instead?

I've initially been mildly aging my gear because it's what I'm most familiar with when I originally played PT, but I've also noticed how ridiculously expensive and troublesome it is to age an item and come back after a small grinding session to age it again. I've recently found out how much more practical it is to Mix my main gear instead, the upfront cost seems higher but I also get the boosts immediately and it's a 100% success rate. Even lategame it seems nice to get a Sol mix and get a 20+ min/max damage right off the bat for a weapon, on top of some extra crit chance. Based on the numbers it seems like I'd need to age stuff to ~20+ before Aging begins to noticeably outpace Mixing gains.

Aging seems like an insane gold sink for only once you have your endgame gear and nothing else to do in the game, so this is why I'm curious if there's any point before endgame where aging is better than mixing.

Only if you want to be tank on Quests or solo up at expmaps, even on those cases, you can still manage, maybe a little troubled, with mixed items
