the rune-system is a very old system and part of the classical servers like ePT-, kPT,,, bPT, and so on. you have one rune for random sockets, then you have coloured runes that make a specific socket for a special rune type. you have to drill your socket in your item, then you can put your rune into it. then you have items to take out the Rune of the socket. then you have items to remove the socket itself, maybe you want to change the socket-colour from lets say agility to health. normally you only can make sockets into armors and weapons. would be interesting to see if you can make a socket in every item here in wartale. or only in armors and weapons

@Dookie

An Iron Dril randomly opens any of the 5 Socket types.
So I'm concluding that an item can take any of the 5 sockets, but I still don't know which items can take a Socket.

It would be interesting to create an Iron drill to find out which items can be socketed.
But for this verification when applying Iron Drill it should appear a balloon to confirm or a balloon to inform that Irom Drill cannot be applied.
If clicking on the item the Socket is created immediately, the game will be very expensive.

@DeadlyWarrior   I just saw your comment about Gems being applied in Armor/Robe/Weapons.
But, Wartale tends to do things differently from other servers so we still need to confirm.
We also need to know how many Sockets each item fits.
We can confirm that there are two because of the Extender, but will we be able to reapply the extender and open up to 5 sockets?

i hope that there will be only sockets for Weapons/Armors/Robes. Like 2 Sockets for Weapons and Armors/Robes = 4 Sockets total. I dont think it will be for the Subgears/Shields/Orbs. But lets see...wartale is always good for a suprise ?

One sugestion that i would give that works a lot in other games is to create a google docs, give access for people that you trust to edit the content when in need and other to ONLY see the document so all the data is concentrated in one place, here they are scattered... just something that may help to organize

Iron drill can create 6 different socket types, not only five.

You can only drill weapons and armor/robes, but the bonus is applied exclusively to the weapon at left of your inventory, classes like brawler and assassin should not worry about drilling two different weapons.

the extender drill, does it work following the color of the first hole, or can a second hole come in a different color from the first?

and what is the sixth color? if we only have 5 stat points types

You can only extend one socket per item, and it works as the iron drill, random.

Just to clarify about the items:

Gem extractor: Extract the gem from the socket to your inventory. The socket remains.

Socket Filler: Remove the socket and destroy the gem inside the socket.

About the Smelting Furnace and Grinding Table skills, they work just as the ones we can rent on cities or they have any difference (like less ores to make a bar or something)?

Just wondering cause i'm far away from level 8 to have this skill ?

It is not necessary to create a Google Docs this tutorial is temporary.
Surely ADM will create the new tutorials.
And it's not just the tutorials for the professions, there are a lot of things to change on the Site Wartale like skills and NPCs etc.
The ADM must be very busy after the release they had to change skills all over again and it takes work.

I don't understand how Irom Drill can randomize 6 socket types.
Unless he can open the first and second sockets.

Or he can create a Neutral Socket where I can put any of the 5 gems?

You can use Smelting Furnace or Grinding Table which are in ricartem and Phillai for 24h for a 5kk fee.

To use them you don't need to have a level.
tip: Gather the necessary items first before renting the Smelting Furnace or Grinding table otherwise you will waste gold on the rent.

You must have LVL 8 Mining to craft the Smelting Furnace or Grinding Table.

The lv 8 skill allow you to summon a processor anywhere and anytime (even luminous cavern or SoD ?) without the rent cost. You must unlock it first by crafting the table or furnace at Smithery.

Smelting Furnace you craft Metallic alloy etc.
Grinding Table you transform herbs.

And the Gems you craft at the Phillay NPC:

Example of some recipes:

You can also find them in Eura village, Atlantis and Batle Town
See the Smelting Furnace Icon or the Grinding Table on the mini map

When you reach Level 8 in Mining or Herbalism you can build a Smelting Furnace or Griding Table.

Hello there,

Mainly its a way of getting more status with the gems, the way of being able to equip the gems is by drilling your items, where only armor and weapon can be drilled (1 hand or 2 hand).

There are 5 different types of gem and they can be crafted at Pillai (Master Yoric), the gems adds specific points from (+3 to + 15) at strength, spirit, talent, agility or health, so you can craft it according to your needs. To craft the gems you have to collect the materials from the profession system. PS: Iron drill gives you 6 possibilities of a color socket.

In order to equip the gem you have firstly to drill your items with the drills that can be crafted at Ricarten (Master Arad), there are 7 types of drills. The iron drill gives you a random color socket, and then 5 of the other drills will give you a specific color which can only be equipped with the same color gem. A second drill can only be made on your item thought the extender drill.

For an example, you can open 2 drills on your 2 hand weapon and 1 drill on your armor. Lets suppose you have a blue and green socket on the first item and a yellow socket from the last. That means you can equip the gems that will give you extra status points of spirit and talent plus extra status points of agility. The extra depends on the type of the gem you are crafting (+3 to + 15).
