Crius 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2011 I got tired of playing blind whenever IM was cast anywhere near me, but I still want there to be some indication it was cast, so I decided to edit the visuals after finding out it was possible. I'm not really sure what all the values and attributes do, but I managed to get something halfway decent by experimenting and got rid of most of the blue fire from the meteorites as they fall (ChaosKaraMeteo.part), as well as reduce the size and life time of the impact effect (ChaosKaraMeteoHit.part). There is still a very large, very bright, and very annoying blue flash from the impact though, and I can't seem to find where this effect comes from. Anyone know which effect/file I can find it in? Melocrie 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2011 I agree, I wanna see a different visual too, or at least less bright. But I haven't got a clue where that file is located, been searching for it as well..
Immortal 40 Report post Posted August 9, 2011 There you go. C:\Games\Wartale\Effect\Particle\Script In script folder search: ChaosKaraMeteo and ChaosKaraSkill move this 2 files out of that folder. you should create a new folder for them, u may need them for update or w/e , so dont delete them. PS: i'm also a victim of " ice meteor"
Crius 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2011 I know about those files, but editing ChaosKaraMeteo.part will only affect the falling meteorite visuals (which I've already toned down), and I don't know what ChaosKaraSkill.part does at all, if it's even related to IM. The only two files that I know of that contains IM visuals is the ChaosKaraMeteo.part (see above), and ChaosKaraMeteoHit.part, which contains the meteorite impact visuals. There is however a third effect, which is a blue flash of light at the meteorite impact, and I'm quite sure it is not in any of the ChaosKara-related files, which means it could be just about anywhere. On an unrelated note; while searching for possible candidates, I came across a "Spaceship Debris" effect. Did not expect that one...
Crius 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2011 Okay, well, I have some news. I decided to just brute-force it, and removed all the effect files except the ChaosKara ones, then removed those as well one by one and watched what happened. I've concluded the following: Only two files have any relevance to the IM visuals: ChaosKaraMeteo.part, and ChaosKaraMeteoHit.part. Removing ChaosKaraMeteoHit.part causes the impact particles to be removed, but you still get the falling meteorites and the light flash upon impact. Removing ChaosKaraMeteo.part causes everything to be removed, including the flash. However, and here is the interesting part, removing ChaosKaraMeteoHit.part and all the content from ChaosKaraMeteo.part (but keeping the empty file) removes the falling meteorites and the impact partiles, but not the damned light flash. The only logical conclusion that I can think of is that the light flash is not in any of the files in the Effect/Particle/Script folder. In retrospect, I suppose this makes a sort of sense considering a light flash is not a "Particle", but still... The effects seem to have some dependency relationship though, so the impact particles for example requires the falling meteorite animation to play, even if that animation happens to be nothing. This can be seen by removing the content from ChaosKaraMeteo.part, but leaving the ChaosKaraMeteoHit.part file intact, which causes the falling meteorites to be gone while the impact particles are still there. Removing the empty ChaosKaraMeteo.part file entirely causes both animations to be gone.
Crius 0 Report post Posted August 9, 2011 Bah. Oh well, at least my entire screen doesn't get blocked by blue fireballs anymore, even if I'm seriously starting to consider wearing sunglasses while playing.
