best skill for SS

i was wondering if flame wave after balance is still worth using or better to use stonespike? SS makes 5 hits from close, anyone has tried it?

flame wave is better because burn damage? im confused flame 2 hits 164% but stonespike can 5 hits 71

It’s the best 1x1 atk skill. Burn damage is nice and is the best skill by far to kill with as mage. 
 

Stone spike is for area damage. Hence the 5 hits.

Stone spike level 10 has 5 circle spike. It's not 5 hits on a spot, it's 5 circles around mage, only good for aoe kill.

it is 100% burn during 1 sec, basically 492% damage boost and AoE ?

I saw a mage using stone spike and prs healing and I doubt. A friend told me stonespike had 5 hits because close hit 5 concentric circles and worked like that for me at icore

It's cool if it does 5 hits on the same monster. But 492% damage boost of flamewave (thanks to @vinixD information) still better than 5 x 71% of stone spike.
