Not really sure. If they dont have plans for it they could either just take the excess Elite Points off just to make the skill section cleaner. Or maybe convert it to regular skills points for the lower tier 1-3 when all 4 elite skills are maxed?

Yeah, turning excess elite points into normal skill points is a good idea. +1 

Perhaps also introduce a convert fee (with gold)?

I would preffer stopping giving EP after it reaches 40/40 EP to avoid this kind of thought.
