Mech Tanking capabilities.

Well gentlemen,

 

I see many complaining mechanic doesn't tank as it should. I'm getting curious about that. Can anyone give some reasonable argument, to me to understand?

 

If you post a link, please try to mention the exact part that shows what I want please.

Alright.

 

I already know what's the issue, but I 'd like to know what makes you guys believe that. What were the tests, what comparison made, what build, et cetera.

 

 

I think It's at the same time a big problem and a Weird thing. Smells like a huge bug and like pure whining at the same time. It would be interesting to see it solved, as mechs power suffered a little adjust now. So, lets discuss that.

 

Could anyone please provide info?

Mech with a tanker build must tank 5-6 chars from his level with tranquility, cus he is the only tanker so he must tank greeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaattt.

How much a tanking mechanic tanks currently?

 

what is the damage taken from 1 char what char and how much?

 

2 chars, how much?

 

and forth?

MS in the past taked 1HKO from PS, i dont tested with new patch bu i think MS tanker cant tank 2 CS from a pike of his lvl.

A lot of the tanking ability of the mech is tied to the absorb value. However, when you take damage in the range of 1500-3000 (I'm guesstimating here), taking ~120 less damage than everyone else is not going to make much difference. Defense, block and evade is better to have in that case, and HP to survive the hit so you can heal (higher absorb will help there too, but it's generally easier to get 100 points extra HP than it is to gain 100 points extra absorb).

Pikemen damage is (3.5.1.6) just retarded. Nobody is supposed to take such damage. If a mech can take 1 of them it tanks way too much.

Well it makes sense.  Did you guys tested if mech really takes a bit less damage then others? It doesn't really need to be a perfect measuring, but test with some chars. e.g. a knight hitting a fs and a mech and them compare. What's the difference between the power mech and the tanking mech?

 

Also, how much HP does a 125-135 mechanician has?

I haven't tested it, no, but I'd be rather surprised if the classes took different amounts of damage even if their stats are the same. Not that it would be the first rather odd implementation choice I've encountered in this game...

This is not the matter Adonis.

 

The thing is that pike's power is abnormal.  That's why you could not expect mech to tank it, by the way, nobody tanked it. Of course a tanking mech is supposed to receive damage better then any other char, we have no doubt about it.

 

I haven't tested it, no, but I'd be rather surprised if the classes took different amounts of damage even if their stats are the same. Not that it would be the first rather odd implementation choice I've encountered in this game...

 

Sometimes it has to do with the other guys failing or criticals.

 

It would be nice if some mech tested it for US. Since everyone is complaining there should be something in it.

The problem on mechs is that their absorption doesn't work.

 

Not just on PvP, but on PvE aswell. On PvE, due to high defense, specially on exp maps, mechs take no damage, like knights and high atas.

 

But if you move to somewhere you take damage, mech take more damage than others.

 

Since the patch they changed the defense formula effects, seems it is a bit better. But still, more defenses, once the hit lands you take a lot more than any other class.

 

I've tested that many times, with different chars. Just as example, in these last days. TheRunner X WatchMan, they take several damage from each other, each hit they strike. Using claw, I'd say 70-80% hp taken, not that hard. With a 127 knight WatchMan couldn't kill me solo, using hammer it was hard a hit that take over 50% of my HP. Knight's tanking is pretty fine, they got high status and they can handle more than others, nothing outstanding.

I may have a mech that is just 116, but I noticed with Compulsion that your skill actually needs to hit the target you want the abs to apply to. I did this in ET2. I would tank a lot better when the skill actually hit the target I wanted to kill. With it active and the target not in the area, I would get hit a lot harder.

in Pvp do not buff Compulsion, it will mess up your blocks and absorbs ( a bug i guess). U will take more dmg than usual. At BC even if you buff MA, it doesnt you tank any better so just go with Maximize.

Defense DO work. If you can't see difference between using MA and not using it, go play another class, seriously.

 

About Compulsion... blablabla. Got nothing with this discussion. Absorption doesn't work properly, and it's an ancient bug. The fact that it works on a limited area is nothing new, and it doesn't really matter, as the abs won't work anyway. This bug where you tank even less with Comp is something new. Doesn't matter aswell. I don't believe you can look properly into a bug on a skill that add abs when the whole abs is bugged.

i have noticed some ppl saying that mech dont have bug just for 1 reason .. so gm dont solve this bug and let mech tank like in offical game .. i hope gm solve this bug and let mech normal like any privte server or like offical ^^ ;D

I'd suggest you to sit and wait, dude.

 

I heard on this last patch release mechs were tanking really better, but I can't test myself, obviously...

 

But I wouldn't believe that until I see that with my own eyes. I'm hitting this buttom about this bug since jan 2010, many times it was told as fixed, but never was.
