Newbie thread - answers wanted

I'm posting this as a general question thread and will update the questions with answers provided by the community. 

I know that alot of these questions will prolly be found in the game guides and i'll link the guides if avaliable.

 

I'll start with a few questions I have as a new player to this server (haven't played Wartale since 2008 i think).

 

Goals:

What's the end-game on this server? Raids, pvp? 

 

Gameplay:

what's the best places to grind exp at 6x 7x 8x 9x 10x 11x - 

 

Mechanics:

 

General questions:

How many active players does the server have? The times I've been online being only level 9x I have seen 1 person outside of town.

There are people playing, but they are lvl high 12x+

Not really sure what you mean by this. As each players goal varies. But if your saying by end which means you have equipped ang gathered all max equipment, relics, mounts and everything you would desire for your class plus max level. Meet friends that will help and challenge you to be the best and achieve what you truly desire to be the strongest. Then that would be my answer.

 

Getting to your goal and the achievement you get from it depends on how much effort and value you put yourself in the game. The harder you achieve things the more it would mean to you in the end. Just have fun along the way.

The game have exp maps but I would suggest doing the Quests and progress along the maps. As you level and finish the quests you earn enough gold and move up through the maps. I do suggest getting your pick axe and trowel as soon as possible in Ruinen Village so that as you go through the maps. You also harvest and mine materials that you can sell for coins and golds that will help you equip yourself later on.

 

 

General questions:

How many active players does the server have? The times I've been online being only level 9x I have seen 1 person outside of town.

Most of the players have different play styles  level in the dungeons and exp maps. Others like me enjoy going around the maps mining and harvesting materials. Also others tame monsters. So I cant really put a number on how many, but you can ask a GM if he could tell you that.

I understand that everyone has different goals for endgame, Maybe I should rephrase. What is there to do in end-game?

Picking up the pick and trowel is a good suggestion, I will defo do that. 

 

When getting higher level will I be seeing more people in the areas?

There’s always stuff to do especially with the element to get the best gears through mining and adding gems to your equipment. 
 

nothing comes easy in this server so requires a lot of grinding. 
 

boss hunting, exp’ing and hunting in Shadow Sanctuary is the normal routine till you get a decent drop. SOD and collecting all the mounts is always a challenge learning the skill to tame. 
 

if you’re 9x you’ll likely not see anybody till you get to ancient dungeons/ iron core (11x-13x). Cursed temple 3 and Diq are both great exp but require a full and effective party to complete. 
 

most people just buy a 12x character now in game instead of starting from scratch since the 12x accounts are relatively cheap.

By buying do you mean with in-game currency?

And if so, how much would I have to farm to be able to afford a 12x character? 

 

(and a quick one, how long does the maitnances usually go on for?)

depends. From when I last left you could get a 12x character from anywhere between 200-500kk (gold). 
 

as for the maintenance, it’s always varies but since it’s a new feature being implemented id say 2-3 days (based on experience)

Yeah, I should prolly be around level 120 when I farmed that amount of cash

Go moonhunting for more exp and gold bro. Once you're 120, you'll have enough gold for 120 items mixed, allowing you to do daily quests and CT3 quest (if you can find a party, hopefully they'll fix this).

In Ricarten you'll find personal shops that sell an item called "Moonhunter". Use this item and you'll find mini monsters in all maps at night. Killing them yields lots of exp points and boss crystals, premium items (which you can sell in personal shops or to blacksmiths for 1kk each). You can start this activity from 11x as by then you'll have enough damage to kill these monsters and also a free 48h eye for extra drops.

 

FYI, this Moonhunter item is sold from an NPC every year during the Spring event (if I'm not mistaken).
