Sure, but you wanna know why ?

Defense affects the rate for your attack pass through,

lets say you have 80 atk rating ( which is the opposite of defense, so its the rate to your attack pass)

and have 100 def.

so the formula would be something similar to ( 80 / 100 ) = chance of sucessfull attack

if this attack pass through, the abs will reduce the damage taken.

let's say you have a attack of 100 dmg, and have 50 abs, the final dmg on you bar will be 50 (100 dmg - 50 abs ).
