How defense rate works

Hello Guys,
I was trying to determinate which mix is best for armor and other gear, and by comparing the defense + abs, it comes really close with our options in currently mix's list.

So i came with that question, do you guys nows how to translate the defense rating system number, lets say 2k, to the actual percentage it will defend on PvP or PvE battles?
I did try to to look in to the foruns, didnt find any info on that matter.

With regards to your question with mixes it depends on your level and how quickly you change your gear. If your just a low lvel character. Best bellum mix or oredo mix would be enough for 5 to 10 levels going up to next equipment and when you reach 13x best saphire to best sol mix if you can.

Thank you for your concerning, thats helpfull, but, i`m actually curious about this mechanic, seems pretty equal to the block rating, and yet different...
