best ranger boss hunter in your opinion?

between atalanta and archer, which would you choose as a boss hunter and why?

Ata has basically the same attack power as archer but with higher attack rating and higher critical chance. Ata skills are faster than archer's and with more hits (DPS).

Archer has bomb shot for demon (6 Spd) and wind arrow for normal mob, but atalanta has a skill for every monster type there is, twisted javelin has the same final dmg as bomb shot but higher speed and no real risk of crying between hits, fire javelin for mutant and for other types combining skills is just the best damage that exists in game probably (fire javelin + poison + vengeance), without even considering amazon rage extra speed, ata also has more abs, hp and evasion against bosses works, archer's doesn't. The only bad thing I could mention is you'll spend more mana and need more dynamic gameplay.

I'd say for bosses its Ata > automs > mgs > as

archer is amazing class! you just have to know how to play her properly ?

why? i have a mech i made auto once to see what it'd be like, defensive items take a lot of strengh, final damage was the smallest and abs buffs (using bow) weren't really all that high for splash damage. i could opt for shield + javelin, but damage would get even smaller for a gain in block i didn't find all that advantageus

 

and mage dont have any strong 1v1 skill, you'd be attacking with flame wave + watornado + meteorite? if there's any prs on your party you can't make use of her 1v1 buff, but maybe the attack power + defense would compensate all that

I'm assuming when you say boss hunting it was in a team or with a tanker, boss hunting alone with a ranger class is basically impossible, magician can.

Hmm also I don't really think your defensive items will take much stats on str unless you're using armor, I wouldn't' recommend wearing level armor/shield on any of these because the abs gained wouldn't compensate for the stats and damage lost, 100-150 health > 250-300 str for armor. Ata, Ms, As with base pure stats you should have enough hp to tank 1 hit, maybe 2 if you're with vl

For autoMS your max str should be for gauntlets which is 115 for greedy and your damage should be 1,5 to 2 times the base attack of an ata/as with 12? or 14? base speed I dont remember, I would recommend you giraffe hat and a low level boss set or even pure set, you'd tank 1 hit and that's enough. Block, evasion and def is 100% useless vs AoE (splash dmg) of bosses as AoE ignores those (not ata, pike and ass evasion) so don't focus on those; def, block, eva only work vs 1x1 hits.

Magician doesn't need a strong 1x1, yes you'd be attacking with Flamewave which is basically the best 1x1 and AoE skill of mage and probs of the whole game, it also doesn't miss, combining with watornado is ok but not necessary and using meteorite is useless as you'd 1.waste time worth of 2 flame wave hits and 2. risking dy1ng, combine with ice sword if you'll hunt alone and put some health points to be able to 100% solo the boss, but if you have a tank you can go pure and use 2h

 

If you're looking for the best class to boss hunt 100% solo no tank no vl, I'd say mage >>> or pike, also any melee or magic and last option rangers cause they don't tank, and if you use a "boss tanker build" (??) you'd have such a low attack that any other class would do better

so i guess there is no escape then. what happens is i more often than not bump into these close knit clan party or non english speaking people and can't join them for the life of me so i was looking for something to do alone, yes

 

well i do can use vl + regen on the prs and have the ms be ultra tanker + gravitation and bring a max dps possible ranger, but managing 3 accounts is rather game breaking to me

reminder that DoT skills don't stack.

so, Poison jav, flame jav, bomb shot and flame wave might do significant less damage if there are other players with burning/poison skills.

if I had to choose, I would go with atalanta+ prs buffing her with regen field, cuz she has more % vs monster type, tank more hits [ chimera+shield+aoe evade] and amazon rage with regen field is a non brainer combo.

you can also try auto ms with lightning enchant + mage using tornado, but that one is harder since auto ms is the squishiest of them all.

by this you mean if i cast a dot skill and someone else casts after me, my damage output is replaced and the one accounted for will be only for the last person that cast it?

the opposite, if someone cast a DoT skill first, no other DoT I'll be applied.

example, assassin dots lasts 12 sec, so during those 12 sec, all other classes won't be able to apply any sort of burning or poison.

this is the main reason I wouldn't recommend mage for boss hunt to be honest, since he can lose 33% of his DPS ,although stone spike is a solid option if you stay really close to bosses, like really close, 0 distance, unlike the usual 80 range melee characters have.

low crit , mediocre AR, low multipliers for skill with 1 hit, slow, it's mostly likely the worst spamable main 1x1 skill of the game, although, you can also use tornado + meteorite alongside stone spike and, in fact, your dps will be reasonable for bosses.
