Returning player - Class suggestion for solo PVE

Hi guys,

i used to play on this server several years ago. Afaik its name was realmPT back then. Anyways, I'm looking for advice on which class to pick for PVE. Back in those days, when i played PT on official servers (arround 2004) i enjoyed playing Mage. Specially because it used to be the easiest class to lvl up. There has been a lot of updates and addons on this server. Even new classes I've never even seen before xD. So I'm a little overhelmed. I know that every class has its pros and cons, but could you guys give me some advice on which class i should start playing, when i want to focus mainly on PVE? I never was a PVP guy on any game, so i don't think i'll be interested in it.

I came back as a Power MS after selling my high lvl account and i'm enjoying it very much.
Easy to lvl up (using spark), tank is very good e killing too. I can do daily Q alone in a few minutes and even dungeons all by my self.

Sounds tempting. Could you give me an advice on how to build a Power Mech on this server or link me to a build?

Note: spark is better then impulsion due to area damage and time cast of the skill

For Pve i would suggest mage, no doubt. Hide behind a crystal and keep spamming skills. ez life xD

It's a no brainer, you like mage already and he's the best PvE char by miles, consistent damage and can comfortably tank. Mage easily do SOD, up and DG solo.

Yes, pretty much.

The best classes for solo PvE are KS and SS.

A note that prs/ mage are also top PvE classes.

 

I recommend SS the most though, because its cheaper than all of the rest, and better in the party play mode than KS/ better at solo than prs/mage in most cases.

 

In addition, unlike prs/mage, it can go with full power with 1h weapon- where those 2 need 2h weapon to reach ideal DPS.

 

KS is also amazing, and it can use 2h weapon in more cases than prs/mage. The catch of ks is at party play, where at a dungeon as a relatively low lvl ks- you need to use 1h weapon till you get good gears, which is a pain, and make u less desired to party with.

Yet SS can join right away due to long range attacks+ speed buff  which makes any SS desired. Yet at a higher lvl, it won't matter, and u can use 2h weapon even at LC with VL, as a ks.

 

KS's strong point: KS tanks better than SS when he uses 1h. SS can still survive any case with kite, but it reduces his DPS.

While KS also has LS, which stuns mobs if he plays solo, so if a player is a pro- can time LS + locate the ks well with 2h weapon, to stun mobs in tough spots, while cleaning them with high DPS attack, which makes him amazing for solo cases.

A note is that the cases where SS can't tank well at solo are rare.

 

 

 

 

Summery: both KS and SS have strong points. Pick whatever strong point you want more, or if you just like a class more- go for whatever you like more 🙂
