[Discussion] Who tested new Death Ray & Diastrophism PVE?

Now that Stone Spike is long cooldown higher damage, it became a "rotation-spell" and the spam circle spell is now Diastrophism (old school style, YEAH!).

I wanna know if someone tested the new Diastrophism buff where "The average damage output of Stone Spike has been shifted to Diastrophism".

 

If the change actually matches the old Stone Spike damage, it means we no longer have to move when we spam the spell because it is ALWAYS in range of maximum hits (2 hits).

And that means that the new best spam spell is Diastrophism where Flame Wave is situational against monster that are weak to fire damage.

 

Regarding the Death Ray buffs, I wanna know if someone tested 1v1 damage, I think this new damage might be better 1v1 spell than Flame Wave or Diastrophism.

But maybe I am wrong and it's only good for pvp..

 

We can give up on skill points in Dancing Sword & Mental Mastery and max out Dia + Death Ray in case they are actually good now.

 

What do you guys think?

Death Ray is good for 1v1 in PvE, I only use Flame Wave for monsters weak to fire. Diastrophism is much stronger now but the range/area is not ideal, so we would have to rotate it with Flame Wave/Meteor to kill rangers. I wouldn't give up Dancing Sword though.

How do you tell what monsters are weak to fire? Also, for a 148 mgs, where should the skill points go now?

 

I have waternado10, EW10, ES10, Dia10, SE10, I think there's no debate on these. 

 

How would you choose between Dancing sword, death ray and otherh? I tried to use death ray in SL but found it doesn't really kill much faster than the good old fw+waternado+meteorite combo. It also miss sometimes

Go Settings > General > Personalization > check the "Show Monster Resistance"

  • New Monster Elemental Resistance Icons can now be seen on the HUD! Optimize your play based on the resistance of the monsters you're fighting!

Now i see it, I actually have it turned on but never noticed it until now.

Hello, I'd like to ask if this skill priority has changed after all recent updates, can anyone confirm? And second question, what's the current AoE main spam skill, Diastrophism or Flame Waves, or both?

I think its situational. But damage is good on dias but you need to equip robe orbs and wands for it to be more effective since you have to tank as well at the same time. Flamewave on the otherhand, you can change your build to pure spirit because its a very long range skill. You can use staff on this and a suit that gives attack speed. It depends on your decision at the end of the day.

Do you actually notice the extra attack speed? I haven't tried cause i'm on a budget lol

If pure spirit build, 106 bracelets is the best bracelet to use. Its agility is at minumum that you can still use end game boots ( draxos boots )

 

Be sure its on sol vitality mix on bracelet.

In my opinion, i mix dexterity if i engage pvp. Since Laser and dance of calamity skill formula involves attack rating boost.but if pure pve, vitality mix is the best. Most PVE skill of mage is AOE and aoe skill as far  as i know it doesnt miss.

Btw is your Diastrophism maxed out? Can't decide between this one or zenyth or agony

Dont train agony, theres a lot of mana supply you can loot. Yes max dias

Yeah I got a lot of mana pots, however I don't need to stop spamming offensive spells to recover mana with agony, but I have to stop attacking to use a mana potion for example, it helps extend the time to use the next potion, that's why I'm still considering
