Could anyone enlighten me?

Hi, I have been playing War Tale since March. Though I may sound very new to the game, I have been in fact playing official English Priston Tale since the early 2003 era.

I am big fan of Priston Tale and have fallen in love with the game ever since my a friend of mine introduce me to it over 20 years ago.

Even since I started playing War Tale I have noticed a big difference (in a good way) in term of content, customisation and customer support from the official game. War Tale has far outshine the official game in every possible ways in that it makes the official game feel more like a ripped off version of it.

For the past few months I have begin to slowly understand the game mechanic, features and customisation War Tale has to offer. However, there is always a strong and burning question inside me that I could never figure out why and how.

I have noticed a lot of high level player begin to sell their account and also all their high aged end game (i.e. level 146 and 148 items) DNT and rare items for coins. At first I thought maybe it's because they want to switch and start playing on a new character and use the coins profited from the sale to buy items for their new character. However as soon as I learned it's possible to switch DNT items from one type to another and even character class from one type to another via coin shop it just started not to make sense at all.

Why on earth would anyone sell away their high age DNT items for coins and start all over again where they can just conveniently swap it? And also why on earth would someone level a new character from scratch that could potential take months (or even years) to reach the same level as the character the have now where they can just convenience swap to a new class via coin shop?

My only logical guess is they might want to change from a melee class to a magic class or vice versa so the gems they have on current item (e.g. add strength / spirit) might not be relevant. However given 146, 148 DNT items are so rare is it really worth the effort to hunt the market again for similar DNT items of another class and re-drill / re-age it all over again?

End game items (i.e. 146 and 148 items) are extremely hard to come by and also DNT items with dual socket of the same type are also hard to come by since the second socket is random and you probably need a few tries to get a second socket of your choice. So why on earth are people selling these items for coins? What do they gain? Could we refund coins for real cash? Or is there any other use of coins outside of War Tale I am unaware of?

My second thought is maybe they have enough of the game and just want to play, but this is even more absurd. Why would them even bother to earn game coins where they have no use for it?

Could anyone enlighten me? Thanks in advance.

Many players are selling their accounts to protect themselves and maybe take advantage of the ongoing economic crisis. That means, they want sell their account to buy another account, after some gap of time.

Accounts and items are depreciating due to exp service activity where players are paid by other players to exp up their chars causing all top maps to stay full 24/7 with people farming levels and items non stop. This activity causes the offer of levels and items to be much greater than its actual demmand, resulting in a drop of price that affects everyone's goods, hence the rush for sale. Also it forces admin to drastically nerf exp rates and drop rates to partially counter the economic situation, but this massively affects the quality of life of the game making it less enjoyable to play, its like a permanent reversed exp and drops event.

Tldr: people want sell account to make profit because game is (at the momment) boring and economy is pointing downwards.
