Hey Guys,

 

Ive seen it come up in several topics. I want to collect the thoughts here.

Its obvious that VL is bugged.

It has been tested and the conclusion right now is.. VL is friggin useless.

I think its one of the skills that makes PRS what they are.

Without this skill i think, the PRS class isnt what it should be.

Any reply from a admin/gm/mod would be very usefull.

actually, vl is not bug. VL is not useless in bc, just hidden status removed( abs, def, evade).

In the past, you just can recast vl until vl is gone

and now, you can recast vl everytime.

I didnt know there was a official word from the admins srry about that.

I started playing this server a few weeks ago.

 

So what u guys try to say, VL is usefull after all?

Well I'll be damned. I did a test just now, 10 mini potions both with and without VL, using otherwise identical equipment and removing rings and sheltoms to minimize the natural regeneration. The measurements may be off by a point or two because of it, but it shouldn't have a significant impact on the results. The health was never maxed from a potion, so the numbers are the health that was actually given per potion.

 

With VL: 256, 142, 190, 179, 178, 240, 204, 230, 248, 218 - Average of 208.5 average (195 expected), range 178-256 (expected 130-260)

Without VL: 178, 139, 194, 132, 114, 108, 168, 165, 151, 137 - Average of 148.6 average (150 expected), range 108-194 (expected 100-200)

 

Seems pretty safe to conclude that VL does in fact have an effect. There are not enough samples to verify that it is exactly 30% more, but it is likely pretty close.

Whether the potions heal more or not is not a big deal either way, it's the damage you take that is. Might want to read this thread (and this a bit further down if you want to follow it from the start). Last I heard, it's been acknowledged but not fixed.

Yeah, thats what i mean.

With VL, your pots give more health.

This is the same for DMG.

With VL, the mobs take more HP each hit.

For example (random numbers)

If a monster hits you for 100HP without VL,

when you put VL on it hits you for 130HP, thus making VL useless...

Im not talking about any hidden absorb..

Im talking about the fact that VL increases monster dmg with the same % as it adds hp.

This would make it useless

Try to not use VL in r8 in sod and u tell me    ???

Better without it.

Seems that they put another hidden bonus, -10% abs or something.

This is probably just your imagination. Im not 100% sure but if it's realy +30% more damage taken (and in my tests it was) you shouldn't notice any difference at all. Use it if you like the animation xD.

The problem was they removed the damage reduce bonus [there were other bonuses but that was the big thing] to balance classes better. The problem seems to be they didn't set it to 0 [thus removing all other effects entirely], but just did the opposite and now its +30% damage. All the patches were meant to do was make VL add just HP with no other hidden effects, so its something to fix in the future.
