Questions About Gathering In General

1.)  Is the success rate of gathering determined by a person's level or the tool they are using?

2.)For the Iron Pickaxe I see they list the stats as (see below) But I can't find where to craft the beginner weapon or is it a drop to get a more powerful Iron Pickaxe?......

Attack Power: 1(1) - 1(3)

Attack Speed: 4 - 5

Integrity: 80 - 85

Req. Level: 25

Spec Extra Ore: 1 - 2

As you gain more gathering experience, you'll be able to use higher-level gathering tools (Pickaxe/Trowel/Rod). Both your experience and tool level will directly impact the rate of materials you collect or fish. You can find the crafting recipes for these tools with Master Shalon in Ricarten.

Not sure about 1.), but for 2.) you can respec it to shuffle it's stats, at mixing npc use iron pickaxe + gyfu + nied + jera + dagaz + sigel

Thank you so much for this information.  Do the higher versions of the weapons require the same thing?

1) I believe the success rate is directly connected with your level in the profession. The tool you are using is responsible for the speed that you will gather the resource as well as the increased percentage of getting the bonus (double resource/shellfish) if it is your spec.

2) You can respec the tools like other items, like people mentioned, the regular respec uses one of each stone. You can also do advance respeccing with super stones and runes on tools.

Do the superstones guarantee a more powerful version to happen?

You use super stones to change only certain parts of the item and keep the others intact while respeccing.

When you craft higher tier, it give you random stats so most likely yes. When i craft the Ample Pickaxe, it only give me 2-2 attack power, force me to respec it. Also when you craft it, it is guaranteed (happen to me 2 times in a row so should be true) to be the spec of the character who craft it . But after respec it is random spec, unless you use super respec.
