There is a boost from WP as long as the skill formula involves spirit. 1v1 skills [basically only death ray] also receive the additional final damage boost given by the elements.

 

The staff has tools a bit more useful than just watching the HP bar go down, just trust us that we have confirmed it is all there  . Everything works just as it is stated.
