Grand Smash vs Impulse?

Which skill is better against single targets? Grand Smash or Impulse?

 

Seems that Grand Smash is a little faster and costs less mp, but can miss a lot. On the other hand, seems that Impulse never misses, but also is not able to deliver critical hits. And which one deals more damage? (I know both hit twice, but I'm unable to understand exactly how Impulse damage is calculated).

I'm asking this because I reached a point where I want to hunt, so I need a good 1x1 skill.

 

I tried hunting a little bit with my sort of hybrid build, and I can say the golem plus spheres plus a single target skill is really powerful. However, I noticed I serious issue: my mp goes down really fast, and mp pots don't drop that much when you kill one at a time, so I end up running out of mp very quickly and need to replenish my pots either buying in town or going to a exp map (I have Spark and Physical Abs lvl 10, so I can farm exp too).

 

Another option would be respeccing into AutoMech, which would automatically solve all mp issues. But I still prefer a power hybrid build, so that I can keep Spark for those moments I feel tired of hunting or want a little more exp.

 

So, what you guys do when hunting with a power build (heavy use of GS) to avoid mp issues?
