One-handed vs two-handed for hunting?

I know one-handed weapons attack around 10-20% faster than two-handed weapons with the same speed ( for example, both weapon with attack speed 8 ). And in the end both styles have around the same overall dps, when not putting skills in the mix. And faster attacks also get more boost from forces.

 

My question is if this faster speed also is reflected on Grand Smash, making it faster on a one-handed weapon?

In other words, when hunting on a power build can I go claw+shield and hope to have the same overall dps I would have with a two-handed hammer?

Yes. They are around 10-20% faster. Don't know the exact value, would have to test it.

1h is faster than 2h slightly, but probably not enough to overcome the difference in damage.
