Questions about hunting as title says:

1.  If you're level 136, do you prefer power mech and carry a two or ONE hand to hunt? why?

2.  If you're level 136, do you prefer auto mech and hunt? why not power mech?

3.  If you use a two hand weapon, what weapon do you use (scythe, hammer, sword, axes) and why?

I just want to start the conversation by answering #3 and would like to hear other opinions as well. Below is the list of level 126 weapons' stats with and without maximize.

 

Without maximize::

level 126 axe damage is 117 - 128; average is 122.5; block is 12%

level 126 hammer damage is 104 - 136; average is 120; block is 14%

level 126 sword damage is 105 - 120; average is 112.5; block is 15%

level 126 scythe damage is 77 - 140; average is 108.5; block is 17%

 

With maximize: add 70% max damage of weapon to the weapon

level 126 axe damage is 117 - 128(1.7); average is 167.3; block is 12%

level 126 hammer damage is 104 - 136(1.7); average is 167.6; block is 14%

level 126 sword damage is 105 - 120(1.7); average is 154.5; block is 15%

level 126 scythe damage is 77 - 140(1.7); average is 157.5; block is 17%

 

Winners:

Judging by the math behind how maximize changes the four weapons' damage, we have two clear winners out of four. The first winner is hammer because it has higher damage and block than axe. The second winner is scythe because it has higher damage and block than sword.

 

Conclusion

Since i'll be hunting using grand smash and it is only a one-hit spell. The extra 10.1 dps is not worth the 3% block I will be losing if I use hammer because I put more emphasis on surviving more than dealing damage. Therefore I choose scythe to hunt with.

1: Two hands of course, you have free Golem to tank for you, why need 1 hand ?

 

2: Auto Mech hunt better since he have the highest DPS in game. DPS = damage per second, so with insane attack speed and good damage, auto attack overwhelm Grandsmash slow animation. Besides, you don't need to boots mana and stamin if you're an Automech so the kill speed become even faster.

 

3: You forgot the most important thing for 136 char: weapon +20.

 

Hammer definitely have biggest damage, but using Hammer or Axe make you lose 10% critical chance since aging them won't increase critical chance. In this case, Sword is much much better. Scythe average damage and block may be a little better than Sword but you already have enough max damage, what you need is min damage.

 

 

 

If you want to go hunt while enjoying PvP, go Power mech. But if you only want to hunt, then Auto Mech is much better.

Well if you go full power, sometime you will see that Metal Armor is better than Maximixe in PvP. The way Maximixe work is not that wonderful, it will add 70% of weapon damage to your Max attack, which means you gain about 100-110 attack power with 126+20 weapon, not that much compare to insane defense and Abs you got from Metal Armor.

 

But if you only want level 10 Maximixe and level 10 Automate, then you're free to do whatever you want .

Well, I already had the oportunity to test Scythe, Hammer and Sword 126 all of them +20 at DI, and i can tell that the results are pretty balanced...

 

Max time difference between the weapons while killing the same monsters was like... 5 seconds... Not a big deal...

 

But among these 3 weapons i think sword is the best because of pvp. Higher Critical and Rate than Scythe...

 

Hammer is awesome looking, but it have a shitty critical, and that make it sux in pvp. =\

 

 

Anyway, at 136 you can be power, auto and "tanker" on the same build, you just need to change stats. But your Metal Armor will be lvl 3... For PVE its ok, Metal armor 1 or 10 adds the same ABS... But for pvp, it may have a little difference on escaping the attacks from some ''high atk rated'' classes.. But stills a good option if you want to be an all-in-one!

Why you need to be Power and Auto at the same time ? The purpose of max Maximise and Automate is to be able to hunt with Auto mech and do PvP with Power Mech. It is actually a  really good hybird build, the only thing you need is reset stone which is extremely cheap. I never said that you need level 10 Maximise and Automate so that you can use both at the same time, what I tried to imply is that you can be both power and auto when it is necessary with the build.

 

I do read your post, but please think about what people's post mean carefully before criticizing my post.

You are the one who don't understand. I never said you should be power and auto at the same moment. The purpose of maxing two skill is only give you flexible obtion to change. You just jump in and said that the build is no good and it cannot be used at the same time. The thing is you don't understand my statement at the beginning, which lead to this silly thing about "same moment". If you have already understood my first post the the beginning, you wouldn't have said that silly "same moment" thing.

Killing speed is the most important for hunting. So Auto mech is the best.
