Game etiquette

 

- Looting \ Stealing items

Looting, otherwise known as taking an item that is laying on the floor simply because it's available.

This is a big problem on this server, let me make it clear.. NOBODY likes for you to steal their item drops.

If you see something you would like laying on the floor you should ask first before running in and taking it!

It's not the value of the item.. It's the fact that you're stealing from someone willing to give you free!

 

- KS'ing (Kill Stealing)

Basically kill stealing is exactly what it sounds like.. To steal a kill from a player that has rights to it.

Hundreds of times people have ran into my spawn and just started killing my monsters without asking first.

If you would like to party someone, ASK first do not just run in their spawn and start killing monsters!

In my case.. If I train in DS or lower I do not need to party, and if I do party it is really terrible EXP rate.

So when people just run in my spawn and start killing it really makes me angry, ASK BEFORE KILLING!

 

- Spawn Hording

Spawn Hording.. This is a classic example of selfishness in the gaming community, it exist in all games.

For example each map has "Hellspawns" or places that spawn monsters in greater intervals then others..

A lot of times clans (Heretics for example) will take control of a spawn and keep it all for themselves.

When a stronger clan controls the map, they control the flow of progress for others outside their clique!

 

I understand people want to help their friends first, but if there's an open slot in your party invite strangers!

To be honest, I am suffering from this right now.. Clan parties have taken over the server from DS to CT2.

Can't get a spawn to myself, and I can't get in any parties because I am in my own clan right by myself.

In my opinion parties should work on a first come first serve basis, unbiased by clan tag or personal opinion.

If you have an open slot and someone ask to join, you should allow them to unless it hurts the EXP Rate.

Hmm i diagree with this spawn holding.

I'm from other clan, and when I asked for open slot there was one for me with heretics, and for other ppl too from different clans or w/o clan. Of course ppl are in need to go somewhere for 5-10 mins, and ask ppl to keep slot for them becouse they will come back and exp another hour or more.

Even if there wasn't slot they just told me.

 

What is more... unfortunately I had few times worst behavior... that i asked for party and nobody even replyed...

Just were fighting and ignoring. I know that there are a lot of ppl from all over the wrold, but I trully believe they know words like "party?" "pt?" etc.

And it was other big clan. I'm not going to write it's name becouse it's not about clan names, but about ppl in clans. It depends what ppl are you meet.

So I wouldn't be writing about any clan as example.

 

Of course it's not good that one clan takes spawn for him only. I had same situation... in other place ... when while event one clan was holding nice spot for 3 days. It was annoying but only prooved clan organisation.

well about party slots  i dont have a thing to say cause i am priest and most of the times ppl ask to pt with then but i agree with you that ppl should give pt when there is free slots because its good to everyone ...for exemple ... i hate having to stop killing mobs to collect money so most of the times i am pt with someone and this person just lure and collect money while i kill ...

about the ksing thing , I awfuly hate it and think someone needs to take care about it and do something

caus if you don't add people to your party some of them get mad and start ksing , also when you threat them ull report they goes like ' haha report me' thats just annoying- happend serveal times already especialy with people that doesnt quite understand english

Well written there's just a few things I disagree with. Spawn hording isn't a problem. Ofcourse people prefer to play with their friends, that's the main reason why many people play this game. You can't stop them from playing with their friends...

And personal opinion is also important. Do you think I would party someone who have for example ks'ed me or looted my spawn before? ......

I kinda agree. But then again I also agree with thor. Im thorn in the middle. One thing I absolutely hate, is when people dont even answer your request to party. As someone else said, everyone on this server understands the therm party..

Other question that happend.... for exemple, some guy is up alone (solo) and Two another guys in party come and input me automatic in party, but i dont want, and i dont have ss from spaw, if i  let out party he says that me is the Ks.... what i have to do in this case ?? i saw it 2 or  3 times all day, its because server is full (its good), but need more spaw =D

No rules. U just lost ur spawn.

 

Since got no rules, no matter the language or where ppl born. They are free to do w/e they want. No rules = no punishments. On this server pl barelly go bc, and hunting maps are free (no pvp), so they feel free to do what their mind says it's better.

#1 - I didn't call out Heretics I said "for example", I even italicized "example" so it would be clear it was just that, an EXAMPLE!

The reason for using them is for the pure fact, they are the largest and at this time the most dominate clan in the server.

I was not directing anything towards them individually, to be honest Heretics clan members have partied me more then any other clan.

So please, read my post before you start posting useless and frankly unnecessary +1's in a thread suited to better the community.

 

#2 - Do I look like I am claiming to be an admin? Did I ever say "This is law, follow it or you will be banned - absolutely!"

No, I didn't - this was basically some of the ideas and beliefs that I follow, and it's welcome to interpretation to anyone reading it.

You see that's the beauty of "opinions", regardless of what you believe, my personal opinion can not be incorrect.

If you disagree with the things I say, great for you. It still doesn't change the fact that I believe in the things I have posted.

 

#3 - There's a golden rule.. "If you have nothing positive to say, say nothing at all." you will do great things in life if you follow this rule.

What was the actual reason for you to post something like that? To get a rise? Did it improve your day? No.. You gained nothing from it.

It's your own personal choice to act like a complete jack off to people for no apparent reason, that's your freewill to do so!

I agree with KS issue. Wartale should've established rules for the game first. What is a game without rules? It's like letting a baby play and roll over the fields. And for those people who are saying that they're OK that there are no rules, they can only say that maybe because they got advantage over other players. It's not fun to play a game with no basic rules at all especially KS. It doesn't make the game enjoyable. Some people just don't have "gaming etiquette", so rules must be applied.

Ept had rules, but who were there to enforce them? No one..

 

How did it go for ept? Actually it went good. People left because of the lack of gm's. But that wasnt because they werent there to enforce the rules, it was because they werent there to make the game "fun" at times, with events and such.

 

Having no rules forces people to take matters into their own hands, which imo is a good thing.

Other than that, having no rules means people can ks and talk shit. But hey? Do you go to prison for talking shit to another person irl? I think not.

The ksing part? Yes well, if someone is known for ksing, that person will get "-rep" and no one is willing to party that person and such.

 

I think as a community we should make a thread where we put the name of people who ks, loot, or whatever, in.

That way, you can check for yourself wether or not the given person is "good or bad".

 

Imo, i think its a harder "punishment" to be sort of excluded from the community, than just being banned for a week.

Other than that, common curtesy is always a good thing to have in mind. You dont wanna be ks'ed, so why should you?

 

I hope personally there wont be any rules. Its way better to take things in you own hand than just run crying to an admin.
