My post was ironic, but as you do not understand I'll explain ... Make a mech and meet all your skills that you can mount a sparky build perfect =).

A tip: read and reread all the skills in the area of damage mech.

Why for what I can tell, the mech level 111 item lower, has a score in the SOD that almost equals the score of a mage 12x

Spark mechs are not only good at SOD but also FT1 and 2. They tank pretty good ( VL or not doesnt matter), and kill pretty fast with standing in the center of the mobs and mobs just keep dying automatically from the damage reflected from Spark Shield.

Without Spark lvl10 the Spark Shield is useless

 

As spark mech your damage will be based on Impulsion, so you don't need MWM, at least not that much. I suggest leaving MWM and boosting up Spark

A spark mech have it's damage based on Spark (that will be used on Spark Shield) and Impulsion. So it's damage is always the same, a 10x spark mech damage the same of a 12x one
