An open letter to RealmPt Admin

Before anything else i would like to introduce myself.

 

My name is Franz de Asis and I'm from the Philippines. I work as a computer admin for 7+ years, I manage a internet cafe' here in our country that has 3 branches with 50+ units each. I do networking/pc maintenance and troubleshooting and also updating and installing softwares.(including games)

 

Other than that I also have an experience in blogging,message board, internet marketing, photography and graphics design. I would also like to include that I am a well-experience gamer. In short, I am not new in the internet & technology, and gaming community.

 

I would like to address the admin of this game that your server has a problem. It is not secured. And it is very important to address this.

 

Since I registered few of my email accounts here. I always have this kind of emails.

 

 

 

Never in my entire career that I have experience this.

 

Why am i sure that it is from your server?

 

We run a test.

 

I ask a friend to register one of his email here.

 

Just to be sure. After a few days he also received an email from google that someone is trying to access his account from a foreign country.

 

We are just lucky that we know how to protect our email accounts. We have a main email account which we do not use to register to any other websites. Then we use that main email account as alternative emails for all of our other emails. Which we use to register on a lot of things, like gaming, web hosting, etc. The purpose of the main account is for security reason, if one of our email got hacked, we can still retrieve it using the main account or if someone wants to access our emails, google will notify our main account and it can be prevented.

 

I hope you get my point and do something about this. This is a serious matter.

I know this might cause a bad publicity to your game but such customer complaint will surely improve the game itself.

I strongly advice all realmpt players to:

 

-Setup a main and alternative emails accounts

-Assign a very powerful password

-Make it a habit to change your passwords as often as you can

Most likely someone from one of your cafe's. They can see all IDs that have been logged each computer via rpt folder.

And I did not install rpt here nor on any other computer, what I did was to save the rpt folder on a dedicated flash drive.
