Are there any games with similar simple gameplay like realmpt? I tried the 1 week trial of WoW but just couldn't get into it. I just downloaded a game called Blade9 but its impossible to even get past the login screen. Tried Neverwinter but theres just too much going on in that game.

 

The biggest problem im having with any other game I try, is that when you're walking around, its not 100% free roam like pristontale. most of these games it feels like you have to walk block to block (I dunno how else to phrase it) kind of like theres an invisible grid.

Unfortunatelly you won't find anything like PT (do not limit yourself to this server).

 

Most games you could tag as MMORPG will follow WoW line, with a shitload of content that keep driving you while you play, following huge narratives through endless quests that are quite boring. In fact, at least from what I've seen these last years, it seems every new game give too much attention to this bullcrap of "hero's journey", or whatever you want to call that.

The same will be applied to the mechanics of the game. Almost everything I can see around makes me feel it's some kind of copy of what you see in WoW.

 

A game that was almost cool was Tera, but... bleh. The game is developed for casual games and have that stupid elin race that is just disgusting. Plus, they lack content for competition between players and guilds, and their open world is just there for you to see, the game is all about MUDs and that sucks.

 

I got no hopes to see anything PT-like anytime soon.

That's unfortunate. All this storyline nonsense just doesnt work in MMORPGs. Its pointless because theres no 'winning' or beating the game , so what exactly is the point of throwing a story into the game? The quests in these newer games are honestly just doing the same thing over and over and over. Collect fur, collect 2 fur, collect 2 fur and meat. Just gets annoying after a while. 

 

The only game that I found to follow PT was one called "El Kardian". It was pretty much exactly like PT except that the skills in the game were ALOT better. The item system was also very good because they had normal and rare items which people would always go hunting for. The game ended up going p2p and that screwed them over big time so the servers shut down eventually cause they lost so many players.

 

PT is an amazing game, but theres no 'real' updates. Its pretty much all bugfixes and little things here and there. I started playing the game back in 2003 and there has been no major improvement over the last 11 years. There's only quests, weapons, maps and, finally, 2 new classes added but there's so many other things that need to be improved.

I would be fine without those major updates if the game was not so broken. It's incredible how stuff can't seem to work properly and nobody comes with reasonable solutions to it.

I think, currently, the biggest problem is how laggy the game gets in heavily populated areas. Seems like no matter how good my computers gets, Ricarten never stops lagging.. but then that would link in with the next problem. The way items are sold in this game need to be changed drastically. Shops would alleviate lag in Ricarten but other areas would still suck.

Why do you only care for PvE? WoW's most interesting part is the PvP.

And do you really find the storyline boring? At least it has one. PT has neither a storyline nor a goal. You just spam IM the whole day and after a week you lvl up.

There is a story,an damn epic and awesome one,but they(Yedang)never try to make it into the game.God knows what are they thinking.

There's a game that you play PVE only and seldom feel boring.Monster Hunter series.

Use different weapon to rape hunt bigass monsters.But usually you get raped hunted by them first.That is,however a skill game(not a mmo).It can be online too,but it's very fun even in singleplayer mode.
