But don't defend this format to maintain the software/server.

 

I'm a software developer and know the most basic is to test everything before putting it into production.

If a fault occurs then return to the previous version but never let down.

 

I don't know the reasons to opt for leaving hundreds of people without being able to play, but there must be a plausible explanation.

 

What he said makes perfect sense, if server was so fucked up from maint that it would take a week to fix he should have went back to previous version till he worked it all out on test server so people could still play.
