Are mages worth it?

I like playing mages but at higher level they seem kinda useless, other chars can pvp, hunt, sod but mages don't really stand out in any of them.

Should deathray be improved so Hunting would be an option? Or are mages usefull but i'm just not seeing it.

So, mages have a great AoE, as they are ones of the best at PvE, alongside with Priest and Shaman (I think).

Plus, their damage boost is % based like any other class, so they are strong at PvP as well.

 

Maybe, their frailty is really hunting, but nevertheless a great class!

All depends for what u like to use it... hunt? forget, choose another class  (u can hunt with mage, but dont expect be too strong like an fs/ks or a mech)

 

Anyway, mage is a good option for your first char. Later u will can use him for power lvling another char if u decide make it (that will help a lot, A LOT).

 

In sod are good too, not the best, but they are strong.

 

The problem with mage is his damage and where train (i mean in 13x+). While during 11x-12x they train easily in xp maps, at 132+ the most common place for train is diQ, and to be honest, not many ppl like mage in the pt there. Not matter if the class is weak or not, but if the players think that arent usefull for the party, it become kinda hard find an slot.

About mage:

 

training: great until 132, but you can always lure.

sod: one of the best, only lose to pro pris and 15x fighter.

pvp: never been to bc, dont know

 

for 14x, if the incoming party Q is 1vs1 in secret labs, mage will surely fall into oblivion lol

My Mage is currently lvl 130, and I love it!!! I know they aren't the best for hunting, and I know that DIQ is better for them after 132, but to me that doesn't really deter me from just XPing in the current places. Even hunting isn't bad because you don't have to tank in hunt maps really, all you do is spawn your FE and you are good to go.

kinda true... but because everyone want tank in the map the first time they enter there (many times using bad items). Now is more common see ppl using crystals or their own summons

 

Anyway... if mech go hunt in tank mode, yes they will tank, but will kill too slow :v

Not mutch... he have low atk rate... so he miss so much... but if he can kill you with 2 critical....
