rafters 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2010 I see people talking about mech attack skills a lot, so i decided to create this topic to discuss about it, and help all of us prepare our mech the way we like to play. I focus on comparing the skills in one scenario, 1 vs 1. Let´s suppose a mech at level 110 (four maps for hunting and the desire to go to BC... ) Atk pow: 450-550 (500 for the calculations) (two-handed+dev force) (it's just a guess, but i think it is not far from reality) Opponent´s abs: 120 (it's a guess too, but i think it is not far from reality on PvP) Mechanic Bomb Useless Spark When we want to train, this is the best skill. It hits an unlimited number of enemies....GOGOGO...Train.... ...Just it! Damage: 740-840 (790 for the calculations) Result: 790-120=670 Great Smash This ability also adds attack rate (weapon), but i think we don´t need, because i tested it on lost (Lost Island) and always hit. It´s very similar to the PS´s Jumping Crash, but they have Vanish, Assasin's Eye and more critical rate than us.... Damage: 2*500=1000 Result: 1000-120=880 Result(crit.): (1000*1,70)-120=1580(I don´t know if we can hit a critical damage using this skill.) Grand Smash This ability also adds attack rate (200). I tested it on lost too, and missed a LOT. On PvP it´s cool... 8) .... and the skill animation is great, especially using scythes (in my opinion).... Damage: 2*1,79*500=1790 Result (1 hit): (1790/2)-120=775 Result (2 hits): 1790-(2*120)=1550 Result(1hit, 1crit.): ((1790/2)*1,70)-120=1402(I think we can hit a critical damage using this skill.) Result(2hit, 1crit.): ((1790/2)*1,70+(1790/2))-(2*120)=2177(I think we can hit a critical damage using this skill.) Result(2hit, 2crit.): (1790*1,70)-(2*120)=2803(I think we can hit a critical damage using this skill.) Impulsion We cannot use axes here. I read a topic to know how it works (http://www.realmpt.com/forum/index.php?topic=12176.0). I didn´t test if this skill always hit the enemy. If there is someone here who tested, please post. When we go hunting, usually face a maximum of two monsters, so these calculations are made only for the main target. On PvP, you will hit near people with this skill.... this is a bad idea if you don´t want to bother other players..... : Damage: 2*(500+500)=2000 (460-540, 500 for the calculations) Result: 2000-(2*120)=1760 (I think we cannot hit a critical damage using this skill.) Considerations: Monsters have less abs than players. If I'm not mistaken an iron fist has 21. I know maximize don´t work with Grand Smash... :'(....but i don´t know if it works with Great Smash or Impulsion. If it works or even if it is fixed, the damage shown here are higher. Formulas are beautiful only if they are correct. I made these calculations based on the idea that I have of how damage is calculated. If i´m wrong, post, and help all of us.... :-X “Rafters, if i hit someone with a impulsion, and he has less than 1760 hp, Will i kill him/her?” I really don´t know, furthermore, I don´t think so. We need someone experienced here to say yes or no, and why. I think we can be evaded or blocked (just on PvP) in all these attacks, just not sure about the spark. As for missing the attack (defense), I think it is only possible in grand smash. I'm loving playing with my mech, and i hope you guys have helped a little, so don´t give up or sell your mech at high levels because you are tired of the spark.... :'(....We can do everything (train, SoD, hunt and PvP), sometimes it´s hard, but we can.... ;D [], rafters

ChemicalJesto 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2010 Wait wait wait. How is Spark that much damage? Isn't the minimum damage 300 with the only change being the max damage + w/e your mech level is. [300-400+(LVL X 4) so if mech is 110 the maximum damage spark can do is 300-840] even using any forces will not effect the end result of damage using spark. Or am I just swirling my brains? Cause regardless of what weapon you use the damage will always be the same.
coreyobrien 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2010 Pretty sure the (LVL X 4) damage is added to both the minimum and maximum. So it would be 740 - 840. I could be mistaken though.
ChemicalJesto 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2010 Can we get some confirmation on the skill Spark please? Cause now this thread got me all confused about how spark damage works.

That's how it works The formula should be (300-400 ) + ((lvl*4)*(lvl/75)) I think it would be more balanced.
