New patch = the end of the mage class ?

I didn't know that the admins really hate mage so much  lol .

 

Mage now is more useless then ever ,,, you admins make a new record .

 

Disappointed,, bye bye mage class

Can't do anything with my mage wich is my main. Even my ks 132 is weak now, so I quit until GM fix server  :-X :'(

Hm, then you are the only one so far who is happy, maybe its works better for you bc LV 140+ idk

 

My Mage LV 127 is very weak now

 

Before the Patch come I can use 5 to 6 Stone Spike skill in a row with e-shield before my Manna went down to repot, now its just 1 to 2, what cost a lot Manna and time

Before the Patch come I need 30 min doing a 5k Quest at FT1 and 35/40 min for a 5k Quest at AD1, today I need 1H at FT1 and 1H 15 min at AD1 lot of time lose

 

I only can play 1H Weapon, playing 2H even at exp Map = instand death, I die twice today at AD1 bc I switch to 2H Weapon, never happen before

 

Before the new Patch come and a Field Boss spawn at my Spot I only need a few Life Pots to stay alive, like 3-6 Pots max, today at AD1 I use 60 !!! life pots until this Mummy went down

 

My Gear, its fine 124 Set, Robe all Oredo Mix + Boss Set 2 Def 2880 with 191 ABS on a 127 Mage playing a 120 Map, need twice the time and pots now after the new patch come... sorry something went wrong with the new patch.

 

But I hope the going to fix it, my Mage still the best option to raise my FS to higher lv, so I cross my fingers toi toi toi

We will balance out MGS and fix other issue related to the class.

 

We decided to be conservative when changing the skills to be %-based. We will rather boost the skills a bit instead of nerfing.

I don't think the real problem is the damage at higher level, maybe increase it by 5-10% at most. What seems to be a severe problem is that mages cannot tank anything anymore with energy shield, forcing mages to either go with the ranged meteorite in a party or start being more defensively by using a wand + orb and put a lot of points in health. This in turn severly lowers the damage of stone spike and meteorite, because these are now relying heavily on the characters ATK PWR, which is sensitive to high spirit values and high staff/wand weapon damage. Unless you want mages to be weaker and to use orbs and wands these days, I would not increase the current percentage damage values too much as the mage's damage will get much better at high level with high lvl aged or mixed staffs and high Spirit values than pre-patch.

 

Now the change to percentage based damage skills also means, if I understand correctly, that at lower levels, mages have (very) low damage (low spirit, low weapon damage) compared to before. To improve this and keeping the %-based skills at the same time, it might be an idea to reintroduce some static damage element in addition to the percentage. Although I do not know if this lower damage at lower level is really a big problem at the moment, because a priestess damage with Ice Meteorite is also quite low and they are not complaining much I believe (also a Priestess needs 160 spirit instead of 145 spirit to get 100% extra weapon damage). Mages still deal twice-thrice the damage of my priestess's Ice Meteorite with a single spell cast of a well-placed Stone Spike or Meteorite. Maybe we have gotten used to have mages at lvl 100-120 to be very powerful killing machines, because of the combination of the (very) high static damage of the old Stone Spike (200-370) coupled to the old Spirit Elemental (400% extra damage) and the very strong energy shield?

 

Another way to add static damage, as a means to increase the lower level mages' damage, would be by balancing the static damage bonus given by Enchant Weapon. However, it is currently unclear to me if the damage given by the new Enchant Weapon actually applies to the damage to spells, as it does not change the damage shown on your character sheet (ATK PWR). I have not tested it very well yet, but I think I will at some point. Does anyone have some information on this?

 

Finally, it might also be possible to rebalance the Fire Elemental in such a way that the static damage of this spell can be added to the ATK PWR of the mage, in a similar way as the Priestess' Spell Muspell does.

you are right, I usually does not need ES to train at IC anymore. I mistakenly active ES while training in IC and the mana spent is ridiculous lol

Mage is very sucks now! My lvl 154 mage with full items, full health, 315abs, 7k+ defs, had the healing egg, vampire teeth, regen from prs, couldn't tank a mob in SL, don't even think to kill mob! GM, please balance the class not weak the class! thank you!

Mage WILL be fixed and WILL get stronger! Just wait, they're focusing on major bugs, then they'll focus on balancing!

Hi, guys.

 

This is what i think: as GM said, we are in Beta Mode, so to help the admins fix all mage´s problems, i suggest that we make a list of problems that we observe ingame.

 

Suggestion List:

1) Energy Field: there is no Mana enough to support this skill - i have a mage 132, nice equips. I was in AD1, to test some skills and when i tried to use Energy Field, the mana bar down to "zero" really fast. Mage lose mana in any hit that field recieve. Please GM, fix this Mage´s problem.

About Energy Shield, here are my assumptions (maybe wrong).

 

Monster Damage = 1000

Energy Shield = 20%

Supposed Reduced Damage = 200

 

 

I think that the mana is being drainded by the raw monster damage (1000), instead of the reflected damage (200).

 

 

I dont know if, previously, the drained mana was also being calculated with ABS...

For me, "Balance", does not mean nerf classes that are already working well. Rather repair and make better the classes that no one is using these days (ata, ass, ps, as)

Say that when your main character is mage. Most people who are complaining are the ones that play only mage.

Yeah but, people are still creating threads and making posts as if Mage is permanently dead even after so many replies from Wartale/Wartale/Wartale that Mage will be fixed eventually.

 

 

If my main char were mage, I would test absolutely everything and gather the much data as I can on what is wrong, what coud be causing it, and possible solutions, same way i'm doing with Knight.

 

 

Making spam topics/posts like mage is dead, won't do any good.
