Wand vs Staff?

Is there any reason to not use a wand when your attack rating and power are higher with a Wand?

 

I havea Staff with 15 more range but almost 50 less attack rating and 2/1 less min/max attack than my Wand. I also lose 8% block but I can compensate that with an orb or shield.

 

My guess would be that Wand + Orb would be much better for now but not sure if a wand has any negative points I should look out for.

if ur wand has more attack then your staff something is wrong, since if u compare same level wand vs staff theres a huge difference.

 

Forget about attack rating on mages it almost doesnt count and that only count to make the attack effective(probably only on PVP not PVE) u need to look for the attack power.

as mcslug said wand and staff in the same lvl (122 and 126 for example) the staff will always have better stats than the wand because it's a 2 hand weapon, but now with the 138 wand I saw that someone said this wand has better stats than 126 staff, but of course is hard to compare a 138 item and a 126

The wand is Inferna mixed and the staff only had Devine mix, so the wand has slightly better Atk Power

Ok, but if you give priority for Mix Staff, this will deal more dmg than the wand. Wands are better only if you can't tank right the mobs where you hunt.

Use aways what fits better for each situation.

I mean, I know when looking at base stats of same level wands and staffs, staffs have better damage output, but wouldn't the wand in my case be better in any case? For now I use it with an orb and all my stats seem to benefit a lot from it when I compare them with my staff equipped.

For this situation, yes, the wand is the best choice, so use it.

But like we said, if u want / need more dmg, or feel it's being so easy to tank, you change to staff, but give it a better mix.

Your Staff having a Wrost mix then your Wand, makes it almost useless. Range and Block is not that thang.

Thanks for the answers They're low level stuff someone gave to me for free but they were already mixed when I got them. Just wanted to know if there's any reason to not use a wand if you don't have a staff that's better, so I'll use this wand for a few levels, I think it's damage is pretty good for my level (9x).
