Bomb shot x perforation

I see some guys using bomb shot to kill in quest di and hs sl. But bomb shot its realy 250 - 500 splash damage? And only 6 atack speed... i dont understand why boys using it... can someone clarify this for me :35_thinking:

Its 200% demon dmg + 250-500 splash dmg there is demons that place and a better aoe area then perfo ^^

Perforation hits a lot more than bomb shot, + 40% chance of critical but the skill hits in a line, you can get to hit less monsters. Bomb shot has a nice circular damage area of splash, + SL and DI parties usually have shaman's on them and (shaman's) speed skill is the only one powerup that influences bomb shot speed. Also you are spending the same mana for twice the hits.

You can both stay in the Middle with SS or MGS or H&R with bomb shot, I do prefer it more than perfo.

Im still low level on my archer, I leveled win arrow and perforation to 10 first, did i make a mistake?  sorry if i highjacked a thread

It's not a mistake, perfo is a really nice skill, it's fast and have this 40% chance of critical as mentioned before. But the splash damage is in line, it requires tanker to make mobs get along haha. But well, bomb shot has 200% dmg bonus only on demons, and in SL there is only one demon monster, besides draxos. DI i don't remember exactely, but i think those little pricks (lena and billy) are demons too. So we should make some math to see what is more effective, speed + critical or less speed + 100% dmg or 200% against demons.

 

Personaly i think both has it's time to use.

well bomb shot damage is following (base on game guide skill page):

Main Target:

Character Total Damage x ((100 + Damage boost)/100) + (Splash Min/Max Damage)

 

Secondary Targets:

((Character Total Damage x ((100 + Damage boost)/100)) / 2) + (Splash Min/Max Damage)

 

Main Target (Demon Type):

Character Total Damage x ((100 + Damage boost)/100) + (Splash Min/Max Damage) x ((100 + 200)/100)

 

Secondary Targets (Demon Type):

((Character Total Damage x ((100 + Damage boost)/100)) / 2) + (Splash Min/Max Damage) x ((100 + 200)/100)

 

It actually deal more damage and more consistent than Perforation shot as the Bomb shot always strike twice on the main target.

A Lv 2 wolverine can allow you to deal good amount of damage to a group of mobs or maybe wipe that group off before the wolverine die.

 

Works really well with following buffs:

Shooting Mastery - More damage
Force of Nature (+120 attack power) - more damage

 

Hall Of Valhalla - 11.5% evasive + (40 + (LV/1) attack power from previous buff name Triumph of Valhalla) - they stack

Evasion Mastery - 25% evasive

Alas (Assassin) - 12% evasive

 

Force! + max 220 with SOL force

 

So a lv 93 archer will gain following skill:

Shooting mastery LV10

Bomb shot LV10 (DMG Boost: 100% / Demon Damage Boost: 200) => Main target = x2 damage / Main target is demon: Deal x3 damage with splash damage

Force Of Nature LV10

 

Thunder Bow no mix / age Damage 32 - 49 AS Spec AGI 250

Atk speed: 1

Atk power: LV/7

Atk rtg: LV/3

Spec Range: 10

 

Total Character will be (No force in use) (Force of Nature is active):
Min: 260 damage

Max: 330 damage

 

Bomb shot Main Target:

(260 x 2) + 250 ~ (330 x 2) + 500

770 ~ 1160

 

Secondary Targets:

(260 x 1) + 250 ~ (330 x 1) + 500

510 ~ 830

 

Main Target (Demon Type):

(260 x 2) + (250 x 3) ~ (330 x 2) + (500 x 3)

1270 ~ 2160

 

Secondary Targets (Demon Type):

(260 x 1) + (250 x 3) ~ (330 x 1) + (500 x 3)

260 + 250 x 3 ~ 330 + 500 x 3

1010 ~ 1830

 

and occasion crit will give bomb shot much much more power than perforation! The only downside is bomb shot is very slow so welp you need a good wolverine (lv 2 - 3) or a lot of crystals so they can tank for you.

On the other hand, Perforation is extremely good if you like to age your bow alot. Because every crit proc by this skill add point into your aging weapon progress bar. So it very useful to age weapons but it is expensive for newbie and not really worth it for weapons with total crit < 20%

 

Then the Perforation can truly shine and worth adding skill point into.

But if you are hybrid archer that use both end game bow and end game armor like Lucifer Bow and Quantum Armor and Imperial Shield, you should have both skill maxed.

 

The Bomb shot only crit with the Heat damage from Splash AOE and the chance is base on your weapon crit chance.

My archer can kill a group of Lv 90 monster in the snow map with just my level 1 wolverine with Bomb shot while struggle to do so with Perforation.

Beside, Bomb shot cause enemies to flinch 100% (both primary direct damage and splash AOE damage)
