hawkcohen 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 Hi Guys, I'm new to this server, and am curious about activity. If I download the client and start playing, how many people are actually ingame? Am I going to feel all alone? Or is there actually a decent community and number of people online?
mai801chan 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 ;D There are lots of peeps playing rPT, go to Ric on Athena and check it out. But most players will be in upper lvl maps. Great economy, mana is abundant, starter quests help get you started with gold, and mystic crystal sold dirt cheap that will jump start your char from zero to hero in a day. Phew~ I think I got everything covered.
hawkcohen 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 So whats the exp like? Will I be spending my life grinding?
mai801chan 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 x50 but you exp up here a lot faster compared to some other severs because of the fairly balanced economy. Mystic crystal is sold in shop, you can use that to level up until 7x8x .
hawkcohen 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 To be quite honest, I've never played Priston Tale before. Can you give me an idea of how much time it'll take to get to the fun stuff?
mai801chan 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 May I ask what char will you be playing?
hawkcohen 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 Again, never played PT before, but I prefer either DPS or healz. Normally I play caster, but since PT evidently doesn't HAVE a caster, whatever gives me the most bang for my buck.
hawkcohen 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 I'll prolly play either a Mechanician, a Priestess, or a Magician.
mai801chan 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 well, casters in PT are magician and priestess. Mech is often seen as a melee tanker who can be very versatile because they can also use bow and be like a ranger. Mech is buggy right now. They do more dmg than ever, but we don't know what will happen to them in the near future when the patch comes out. They should be an interesting class nonetheless, however you have to be patient and genuine interest is required. Healing isn't big in PT, most prefer to use HP pot and no PRS I know invest in healing skills until they maxed out all their offense or buff skills, which means only high lvl PRS may have good heal. Magician can lvl very fast up to 11x then they will have tanking issue (instead of losing HP, their shield drain mana faster than they can make good use of it). PRS don't deal as much dmg as MG but they have a much better 1v1 skill, and Virtual Life buff is sought after by each single player and it gives PRS themselves the ability to tank well. The good thing about MG and PRS is that with all the good items at affordable price, there is no heated debate over which build is better. You pretty much invest in STR and AGI to equip the latest in trend, then it's a matter of style and equipments that you may put more into Spirit (dmg + mana) or Health (def + HP + a nitty gritty of other things) but overall there is no great diversity. When it gets fun? Well, quite frankly all thing is relative. I've played it the hard way so I enjoy the fast exp and advanced items which does not mean anything to you. And even then, it doesn't get fun for me until I am fairly well equipped and after I trained my skill to be 100% (for casters, you can't do much when you can't cast LOL!). So it was more or less a rush to 8x for skills and equips.
