SS vs ES

So, with the change in ES, what is your preference, SS or ES?  Also, do you really believe that a lvl 10 SS reflects 138% of spark damage to the attacker?  Does that really mean that if spark is 300-400+(LVL x 4), let's pretend it's 300 - 840, then when a monster attacks your spark shield, they will receive 414 - 1159 damage?  (assuming they aren't mechanic monsters, which are rare after iron)  It certainly doesn't seem like it to me.

I have a health phoenix, so it's hard for me to tell if it's block for lvl 10 ES or the phoenix that's making me not ever having to use health pots any more.

Spark lvlx4 added to min and max, not only min ._.

15% block > 240 defense

If you're not using spark build ES > SS

At least talking about numbers :P

Yes, but if you are a spark build, does SS really provide sufficient benefit? Given what a sucky killer I am as a mech (it really is tedious trying to eke out 1% exp using spark, but no other real alternatives at the moment), I know that SS should be helping with mob damage, but it doesn't seem to have that much impact.

SS for exping.

ES for power build.

SS helps quite a bit with exping, and I would like to take as much as I can that will help me exp :P

Agree with Koleo!

(Hey, why do I always agree with him?  :o)

But I wonder what I should do with ES when Tier5 comes along with a new and better shield.

Still, it's a good idea to combo Maximize with ES while using good claw. The only problem is that Mech IS WEAK !!

Yeah the +15% helps a bunch in BC. Any block you can get is good to take :P

I don't know if it helps much in hunting unless you use claw O.o I use 2h if I go hunting and just hide behind my golem. No need to tank :P

Also it's because I'm awesome xD

If you have fight boss and normal mobs at the same time it would be safer to use both golem and ES. Other wise, it's just a waste!

I fight 2-5 bosses a day in ft2 and don't use even 1 pot O.o

Unless you are killing val or kelv or something, but that would be pointless to try unless you are power mech imo.

If you're really going to fight boss, true boss, you won't pot either, not being mech. That's why golem stands for

Big bosses spawn alone, let the golem tank and be happy

Mechs have the advantage of going to kill a boss with only 20 pots tops xD

HP pots, because they waste more stm and mana than others due to their incredible weak damage, poor attack rating... they take 2x longer to kill stuff 8)

So, how long will it take a lvl 120 Mech to kill Valento?

Depends on build.

Spark mech would take a really long time.

Powermech would take less, but still quite a while because of crappy damage output. It will be better when/if maximize gets boosted.

I have never hunted val in Rpt with a mech, so I can't tell from first hand experience.

In fact might take a bit more

For... power? Spark is slow, Spark is weak skill... it's good if you do know how to manage it

Yerp but there is only so much you can do with it. Still weak no matter what.

I wouldn't advise hunting val with spark, it would be slow.
