kenshiro 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2011 What does compulsion exactly do besides increasing abs? The skill page says "Compulsion: Creates a magnetic field that pulls enemies towards the player while temporarily boosting absorption." what's the meaning of that? When you activate it monsters come to you? Don't they usually do that by default? What's the "magnetic range?" Someone please gives details P.S.: the skill page is wrong, it says it gives a % of abs but it's a fixed amount instead.

kenshiro 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2011 oh ok, thanks. So that part of the skill is kinda useless when solo (still worth using for the abs boost)... ty
7 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2011 To bad you have to recast it when you killed your lure - The abs boost only works on the mobs there are in range when you cast it (they are often pushed back a bit).. It also helps against monsters with freeze (few mobs in ice maps etc) / stun (chimera, BK etc) attacks. When you used comp "on them" they wont be able to freeze / stun you.. In pvp it helps vs prs / ps ice attack and fs roar.. It isnt working on boss monsters.. The above only apply if rpt didnt change it from how it works on ept.. Its good for hunting and pvping but for massing killing it sucks as you have to recast it a lot..
kenshiro 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2011 that sounds weird because when you use it the abs shown on your character's sheet changes, so i thought it was a permanent buff you'd get... for those 5 minutes at least. Are you sure about that? I don't understand why it would work against fighter's roar, roar does no damage so "absorbtion" should have nothing to do with it? Both in pvp, pve - both with one mob and mass killing.. So yes im sure it only works on the mobs / other char within range when you cast it.. Roar = stun the other char / mob.. If you cast compulsion when pvping a fs its useless for him to cast roar to stun you as you wont get effected by it.. Same goes with ps ground pike and prs glacial spike.. 7 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2011 If you want to test it youself go to ice1 - Dont use es, pa, ma or golem when testing - Dont be lvl 200 so you normal abs / defence while eat all the dmg. Vs CC 1 Tank a cc without compulsion - you hp will go down easy and you mana will drain when cc use the mana drain skill. 2 Tank a cc with compulsion cast away from the cc - Same think as test 1 will happen here. 3 Tank a cc with compulsion cast so the cc is "knocked back" - you hp will not go down as easy as the other 2 test + you mana wont be drained when cc uses the mana drain skill. 2 - Vs frost Do the same 3 test as with CC. In test 3 you will see you wont be affected by the freeze skill.
koleo 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2011 7 Is right. I stated pretty much word for word exactly what he said in another thread. So +1 to him. Also if you are a good party player then comp helps way more than you know. I have saved many people in PvE with it, and also killed a few that try to out tank me and mess up spawns =/ Works great if you are stuck in a massive mob, just pop comp and you get some breathing room to wiggle out. Speaking of that, it helps to rebuff since it pushes mobs back slightly.
