Krush 2 Report post Posted May 29, 2018 Hi all. I play casually, got a 104 Knight and 98 Archer. Usually levle them together. I like to mix my items well and try to look daily to look for good deals on sheltoms and KS items. ATM I can easily tank Mystery Dessert 1. Havent tried 2 yet. I have about 50 million Gold. The thing is i mostly leveled in other normal PT maps such as Iron1-2 and S1-2 till recently (102) so I can also make some money whilst hunting. Game is pretty comfortable to play compared to most other servers I have tried over the years (I played PT very casually on off since Euro Beta pre Morion), so hats off to the Server team. I would like some general advice. The 48hour exp boost is helping greatly but even as a casual player am I wasting it? I want to exp comfortably but also need to make gold in preparations for higher levels. Only now am I with great difficulty able to hunt in Land of Chaos but I found that its faster to hunt gold in Iron2. Found my first Inferna though yesterday so Yipee. Any tips on how to make money and generally game better ? I would like to afford the boss sets as soon as possible as I have never had them on any server I played. Have a good feeling about this one though. Regarding skills: I have levle 7 Drastic Spirit and level 8 Divine Shield - still struggle to decide every skill ups which to get to 10 first ? I have Holy Aura at 8 and Undead Bane at 3 but im not sure if either of them have made much of a difference to my growth. SwordMastery - GrandCross - Brandish - GodlyShield are all 10. Am I on track ? Regarding level10 Brandish, recently was thinking maybe I should have leveled Piercing instead ? Thanks in advance and apologies if this post is in the wrong section. erotushd 5 Report post Posted May 29, 2018 I've got no points with the way you use EXP-boosting time since it's optional. It doesn't prevent you from leveling, it just makes that happen faster. And also remind that the quest's experience numbers are also affected by this bonus. You may concentrate on leveling until the bonus is over, then go hunting. Tips for making money: well... there are tons of them and I'm not sure which one should someone follow specifically since they're also optional to individuals. I wouldn't like to answer this since I'm learning about it too :))). About me, I'm playing a Mage and on I will grind gold in I2, just like you, which is one of the easiest ways to earn gold here or rush into the SOD. About the Ks skills, I've got experience since I used to grind a Ks til the end of 120 (gave up due to a couple of reasons): since you're mostly leveling and grinding golds without hunting specifically in hunting maps, here are the essential skills (listing in PRIORITY ORDER): Tier 1-3: Brandish 10 and/or Piercing 10, Sword Mastery 10 (You won't need Drastic Spirit or Divine Shield since they are kind of unnecessary to add in PvE. This is not the old PT anymore.). If you want to get into hunting 1vs1 later you may consider having Grand Cross 10, Holy Incantation 10 (petting undead mobs), Holy Valor (only works with 1vs1). Holy Body may be useful for undead-specified maps like Ancient Dungeon maps. Tier 4: Godly Shield 10, God Bless 10, Divine Piercing 10 (for 1vs1) Tier 5: Lighting Sword 10, Holy Aura 10, Undead Bane 10. Undead Bane only boosts your final damage against undead mobs, while Holy Aura adds you HP regen, sucks HP from surrounding mobs for you, adds 1vs1 damage with bonus charge mechanics and 40% AR using Divine Piercing and Double Crash. Comparing brandish with piercing, they've got their own pros and cons. Brandish hits on a kind of "circular" area, which is suitable with a rounded spawn, and you can spam it without targeting again. Piercing, however, has a bit higher dps with higher dmg boosting (including dmg bonus against mutant mobs) and faster animation, but it hits in a line, so in a spawn, you may have to consider the position to lure the mobs in a line and cast the skill (so takes more time). And never, ever underestimate the skill Lighting Sword. Despite the complaints about the neft of this skill, you still need it since that still contributes a huge dps. Krush 2 Report post Posted May 30, 2018 Thanks a lot for the reply, something to think about and consider.
Stratovus 8 Report post Posted May 31, 2018 agreed with ero, in my KS build i did not max Drastic Spirit or Divine Shield, neither Holy Incantation, i maxed sword mastery, brandish, godly shield, gods blessing, lightning sword, undead bane, holy aura(still not lvl 10 in my case). i did not max holy incantation in order to max physical training (+50% STM at max) more STM means more bolts avaliable for the lightning sword skill. erotushd 5 Report post Posted May 31, 2018 Oh yeah, forgot about Physical Training @@ It's a must for Lighting Sword
Tampered Knight 8 Report post Posted May 31, 2018 (edited) I would say it depends on maps, and where do you train...Always check the map guide what monsters are in it, and decide if HV is the way to go. Personally, I would keep DS and up Divine Shield, since it chains with Godly Shield... MD 1-3 hardly has any undead...AD have undead, but using Drastic Spirit there is fine too. I haven't seen anyone using HB in AD maps, mostly HV or DS. Instead of Iron 2 or LoC, try Ice 1 to hunt. Try SoD to earn gold. Focus on EXPing, then hunting after the EXP pot expired, that would help you to reach new gear to hunt more effectively. Get to 105, do the "Army of stone" quest from that guy in battle town. Good EXP. Edited May 31, 2018 by Tampered Knight
Krush 2 Report post Posted June 1, 2018 Thanks guys, good to know im kind of on track, will need to reskill to up LightningSword first. Regarding those points, whats the following and what level can i get there. MD (Mystery Dessert)? im currently levleing in MD1 if thats the case. Not tried further yet. I can tank MD 1 with my JusticeSword so really happy with that. Its not just a show piece. Whats AD (Ancient Dungeon )? is that the one with the dead characters ? How do i get there? What is LoC sorry ? Regarding that part, so Hunt in Ice1? does that mean to earn gold? I dont pick items up due to my filter, only gold and sheltoms. Should i be selling the items doing town runs? Regarding SoD. I havnt tried it in few levels but I was only able to kill upto MysteryDesert mobs, on that map I had to run around barely surviving let alone killing anything. Then I die and I dont gain any gold, how is one ment to gain gold in SoD. Any complete guides on this? I would love to go SoD now and then, its a beautiful feature. Any tips on sheltoms and rings etc? Im using a perfect 68 spirit murky, thinking of mixing it soon with some def. I recently bought some 70 spirit 100 rings, since i cant seem to find perfect spirit requirement ones. (68) I will have to level up for the skill points to be able to use them though. Is there a more efficient way about this ?
Amethyst 62 Report post Posted June 1, 2018 You need to survive in all rounds in SOD to get gold, provided that you are not kicked out by the winning team. You do not need to kill any mob in the rounds that have strong mobs, you just need to survive till the end of round 8. When I did not have good gears I ran around the room in circles until round 8 ended. To get to Ancient Dungeon use teleport core (green one) or run through MD map. I forgot which MD map, you can check the world map.
Krush 2 Report post Posted June 2, 2018 Ok thanks ill try SoD again and level for AD
Tampered Knight 8 Report post Posted June 6, 2018 (edited) Ancient Dungeon is at MD1, after the pillars. Before attempting to go AD1, you can go FT 1 (Forgotten Temple) at 110. The one with the dead/stone characters is at MD 3, next to battle town. LoC = Land of Chaos. In ice 1, I used to farm sheltoms there. Mirage/Celesto drop more often there and you can pick em to sell. You can do both for extra cash since the NPC is rather near, or just focus on sheltom hunting. SoD for knights is not easy. Maybe except 14-15x guys who have +22 134 and above swords. It's easy to be outclassed by wider AoE classes like Pris/Shaman/Mages when they enter the other rooms to compete with you...It's all about killing fast. If you make it to the end, it's awesome and you can trade monster souls for items. Also, the amount of money earned depends on your score. As for rings & sheltoms, maybe try saving up for V-Rings, and/or a DGS. Edited June 6, 2018 by Tampered Knight
