Powerleveling

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

So I want to open this discussion as i think it kinda destroys the purpose of this game.

There used to be a time where you would feel some kind of satisfaction when leveling your character to let's say 120 or such, but now all of this has gone away.

For like 5 euro's or less you can already just buy one with coins.

If you think about it, it would take you several days if not more if you had to start from lvl 1.

Now (if you are an adult) it takes you half an hour of work or less and just spend that money on a account.

When you go to certain maps and visit the HS you'll always see them packed with 6 chars getting powerleveled by some guy.

How is this even fun anymore.

Isn't there a way to get rid of the powerlevel element and make people party up and level again from the start instead of level 132.

Just want to hear your thoughts about this.

Where are the players to facilitate such party grinding? i had to help a friend get to 100 by tanking for them before i could even find a 120 to bridge us (im 140) so we could go out and play together.

As i said, there is just no place for low level players because 150+ chars are boosting a 6 man party and then just selling them for a low amount of gold/coins. Take that away and people will be forced to start from scratch and will have to party up to level again

I understand what you mean, and I agree with it, but taking away low level account selling isn't the solution. I really don't know what is, but not allowing that certainly is not the solution.

I just leveled up my Mechanician from 1 to 107 all by myself (without leeching), but after that I bridged it with a 13x PRS. What I can say is that I found several people in that journey who were exping in real parties too, which kind of made me happy, but there were only a few who did that.

I agree that not allowing account selling isn't the solution, the solution however is decreasing the exp drastically when the level difference in the party is to big.

This would prevent powerleveling with a very big level difference and stimulate leveling with members of the same level.

WOW, this is the best suggestion made in the past few years. Reducing EXP for big Level Difference in the party and buffing EXP for low Level Difference in the party, to force account sellers to never reject any other new low-level player into the party. Mind blown.

I am still wondering if there is any downside to it though, but thumbs up for you, haven't seen a good suggestion since like forever. We can even remove the party level restriction altogether now that we have this, and then even Lv160 can party Lv1.

Well, maybe i'll put it in the suggestion part of the forum and see where it takes us

I don't really know if reducing exp drastically when party level is too big will help. IMO the probem is much bigger.

You can see the same problem in WoW for example. When level cap was 60, level 30 was fun. When level cap became 80, 60+ was fun, and 30 started getting boring. I used this example because it doesn't happen only with Priston.

The problem begins when the level cap is increased, and new items are introduced. The same way a 12x item is sold to the NPC today, a 12x char is worth nothing, because the gap is just to big to 160, so what happens? It's natural that the staff makes lower levels easier, so that new players can get closer to the top levels faster.

I agree in making it easy to level up faster to let's say 120. But what bothers me is the way how. Powerleveling isn't the way to do this because it only makes the highest level players richer by selling the accounts.

Imagine if a new player starts the game from scratch and spends 100+ hours to get to level 120. And then he notices a guy selling a 120 account for only 100mill (wich can be gathered in like 5 hours). It takes away the joy to level and play the game.

Maybe one way is make the difference in party between the lowest member and the highest must be xx number of levels, and you can't cheat like today with bridge.

Remember that exping in exp maps with a high level you have penalty for your level, and for party too, (6 member pt, exp at 50%)

The party penalty is in most cases why no one gives party in exp maps during exp*2.
