    Mounts

    By Wartale, in Mounts,

    Mounts
Mounts are a new way to explore the world of Wartale! They are essential for you to traverse the vast lands. How to get them, you ask? Well, you tame Wild Creatures, seal them in a Crystal and put them in your Stable! There are so so many, do you have it in you to collect them all?!

    Capturing a Mount
Before you start venturing looking for Wild Creatures to tame, you must learn how to capture. In the hunting fields, you may find a creature with a special rainbow aura around it, and its name in pink. This is a Wild Creature that you can tame with a Capture Crystal. You can buy a Capture Crystal from Huntress in Ricarten Town or Phillai Town.

You can find different Wild Creatures in distinct area's, see the Mount List below. Head over to the map of your desired Mount! A notice in chat appears a few minutes before the Wild Creature appears, and once it has appeared. Once it has spawned, you have to run around the map and find it! You can use the minimap to help you a bit on that.

Aim the mouse on the Wild Creature and get near it, then use (right click) the Capture Crystal to start the Taming Process. Other players can also start taming the same Wild Creature as you, and only the first player to successfully finish the whole Taming Process gets the Tamed Mount Crystal. The Wild Creature will not move when someone is in the Taming Process. We will explain how it works with a Wild Pokie:

Using the Capture Crystal will consume the Capture Crystal and start the Taming Process.

You have about 8 seconds to prepare yourself for the Taming Process minigame! The minigame consists of multiple increasingly-harder rounds where you have to click your Spacebar keyboard button right at the moment when the moving yellow cursor is on top of the cyan square. Each subsequent round, the yellow cursor will move faster, the cyan area will become smaller and the time you have to complete the round is shorter. The difficulty and number of rounds depends on the Capturing Difficulty of the Wild Creature, which differs for each Wild Creature!

Did you successfully complete all rounds!? Then you've tamed and trapped the Wild Creature in a Tamed Mount Crystal, in this case it would be a Tamed Pokie Crystal! These Crystals can be freely traded between players, for most Mounts.

Did you fail? Awwwwh! Each Wild Creature can be attempted to be tamed a few times, how many attempts is different for each Wild Creature. If you ran out of attempts, the Wild Creature will escape and disappear. The total number of attempts is for the Wild Creature, so another player that's taming at the same time also takes an attempt away. Better luck next time!

    Adding Mounts to your Stable
To register the Mount in your stable, right click and use the Tamed Mount Crystal. The Mount will be permanently placed in your Stable, among other Mounts you may have. You can only have one Mount in your Stable per type. You open your Stable with the X keyboard button, or with the button in the HUD.

You manage your Mounts in the Stable. You can view the stats of your Mounts, use Mounts and set short keys for your Mounts. Setting a short key is really useful, so we will explain it now. The short keys you can use are the same as the Skill short keys. First, aim your mouse cursor on the portrait of the Mount, click left mouse button and keep holding it, then press '4' (or any of the other keys).

    Using a Mount
To use your Mount, you can either use the short key you've set for it or click the Mount Button in the Stable Window. When you use the Mount, your character will jump and a fog will appear, this takes about half a second. Then... you'll be sitting for the first time on a Mount!!

    Mount Types
Just like Monsters, Mounts have a Type.

    Normal Mutant Demon Undead Mechanic
Mount Type only affects Dismount Resistance, see Mount Stats below.

    Mount Stats
    Mounts have three stats.

Speed The movement speed when you're on the Mount. Evade The additional evasion percentage you get when you're on the Mount. Dismount Resistance The resistance to dismounting when you get hit by a Monster. If you get hit by Monster and the Mount you're on is of the same Type as the Monster, your Dismount Resistance is significantly greater.

    Mount Rarity
Mounts are categorized in four rarities. The higher the rarity, the more Evade and Dismount Resistance, but it's only a little more. All Mounts in the same rarity category have the same stats. The Speed of Mounts is the same across Mounts of all rarities.

Common Easily found in the Battlefields. Rare Moderately found in the Battlefields. Epic Rarely found in the Battlefields. May also be dropped or obtained through Events. Legendary Only obtained during Events.

    Mount Boosters
To make your Mount give that little extra push, you need to reward it with something! Well it so happens to be that they really like Carrots, and you can get Carrots from harvesting or from other players. These Boosters are lightweight items that you can stack a whole lot of.

When you're on a Mount and running, a Carrot bar will appear at the bottom of your screen, indicating if you can use a Booster. Press Space Bar on your keyboard to use one. Be smart about how you use them for the optimal speed increase!

    Mount Equipment
Your Mounts will really like it if you equip them. It will increase their Speed, Evade and Dismount Resistance.

Each Mount in your Stable has its own Equipment Items. To equip an item on the Mount, click on the Mount in your Stable, then you can place the Equipment Item in one of the three slots at the bottom of the Stable.

You can upgrade your Mount Equipment Items at Smithery Master, Shalon in Ricarten Town!

Mount Equipment comes in specs. The specs are Mount Rarity, so there is Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary spec. There is no no-spec for Mount Equipment items. If you equip Mount Equipment to your Mount with the wrong spec, the spec stats are not applied to your Mount, but the base stats are.

When you're using your Mount, the integrity of the Mount Equipment will go down slowly. By walking, the Integrity of your Mount's Anklets will go down, by evading damage, the Integrity of your Mount's Shaffron will go down, and by resisting dismounts from attacks, the Integrity of your Mount's Saddle will go down. Once the Integrity reaches zero, the item's stats does not apply anymore. You can repair the Integrity at a Blacksmith as usual.

You can find Mount Equipment by drop from Super Bosses, Dungeons and Events.

You can respec your Mount Equipment items at Mixing Craftsman, Morald (Mixing NPC) in Ricarten Town. To respec, you need one Gyfu, one Nied, one Jera and one Dagaz. This will reset the stats and spec of your item.

If you want to respec to a specific spec, you can use Mount Runes. You can obtain Mount Runes from most Bosses.

Name Feature Common Rune 100% chance to get Common Spec. Rare Rune 100% chance to get Rare Spec. Epic Rune 100% chance to get Epic Spec. Legendary Rune 100% chance to get Legendary Spec.
To respec with a Mount Rune. You need one Super Gyfu, one Super Nied, one Super Jera and one Super Dagaz. Using a Mount Rune does not change the stats of the item, it only changes the spec. If the item already had spec and had perfect stats, the new item will retain the perfect stats, otherwise it will stay the same. If the item had no spec, random spec stats are added.

You can also use the Base Runes and and Spec Runes on Mount Equipment Items. Using the same formula expect placing the Base Rune or Mount Rune in the middle slot.
