Oh, it varies. For just listening, it's some of the lighter forms of metal and rock (e.g. symphonic, melodic or power metal). My favorite for the moment is Within Temptation's new The Unforgiving (their previous albums are sort of hit-and-miss, but give this one a listen if you like rock. I'd recommend the track Iron for a start), though I enjoy bands like Epica, Edenbridge, and Kamelot's newer albums as well (to mention a few). I've got a pretty wide range though, including some of the more melodic pop and classic metal (Iron Maiden et al), but it's not really anything I keep going back to on a regular basis.

For dancing, you definitely need something less melodic and more rythmic though, and I'm not particularly picky there. As long as it's got a good beat, I don't really need to listen to the lyrics or music all that much.

 

What I don't like though, is rap. And Black Eyed Peas, whatever they call their music.
