[Tutorial] Play Wartale on Mac

Recommended Posts

Cloud

Hey guys!

This has probably been published before. But for people who are a little less technologically inclined (such as myself) here's a way of playing Wartale on your MacBook.

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201468#storage

In brief, you can partition your MacBook and switch between Mac OS and Windows 10. You can also download the copy of windows 10 for the partition disk in this link.

I won't take credit for this but I thought it would be useful for people to know how to play the game with the best performance.

P.s. this also took me ages to find a way to play this game as I couldn't find any solutions before.

Hope this helps someone out in the future anyhow. ?

No problem. I didn't really want to fork out for a new computer just to play the game truth be told. But here we are with a solution ?

Since I made the error already

you need to partition like 60 go minimum to play Wartale. Bcoz windows take some memory and Wartale a bit too

I set aside 80gb and everything seems to be working good.

I did encounter a wireless adapter error though so couldn't finish installing windows fully. But it's a simple fix:

Grab a USB stick

Change over to mac os

Open boot assistant

Action

Download windows support

Change back over to windows OS and run it

Problem solved :D

Hi,

Even though this topic is old but I just want to bring it up so our user who on MAC can take advantage of it.

I also would like to add few more details here:

1. For Intel MAC:

You have 2 options:

- Using Boot Camp

- OR Install Parallels to play

2. For Apple Silicon MAC (M1/M2):

Since Boot Camp is no longer an option you can only play with Parallels Version 18.

I have tried CrossedOver 20 but the game will keep crashing on login.

P/S: Above information is personal experience only. It is not officially supported by our Dev team.

I've tried recently using My M1 Pro Macbook to play Wartale. However, the default settings on it basically takes forever to load and it is very choppy. is there any optimized setting i can tweek to make it smoother. I tried to access the settings to turn off all the quality and particles etc. but its to a point where the commands / inputs were really choppy and not ideal.

Thanks,

Hey,

Did you use the bootcamp method? If so, how much space did you use to create it?

Alternatively, have you tried installing the latest version of direct x on it? That sometimes helps some users.

M1 MBP cant run bootcamp.

it basically relies on Parallels to “virtually run windows”

it should have auto updated all necessary versions in order to run like it would running a brand new pc if it detects versions of directx etc not compatible with the mac. But yes even with everything turned to lowest settings its pretty choppy on my macbook.

i tried to find a place where the old parallels allow me to set addiitional partition size and cpu usage for the windows counter part however the newest parallels doesnt seem to have that option

I managed to run it through CrossOver with a M4 chip, and the performance was better than with Parallels. However, I ran into an endless login issue that seems to be caused by a block from Wartale's side.
