Does anyone know how socks gifting works?

Hello everyone,

 

According to the event guide: 

• Gift Xmas Socks to other player's Xmas trees and both the giver and receiver will be rewarded with a Gift Box the next day!

 

I put my socks to another character's Christmas tree and received nothing in return. The receiver only got the sock and nothing else. Should the two trees from separate IPs, or socks are no longer to be sent out for gift boxes in return?

It says “Right click to see what’s inside!”. I guess GM hasn’t update the guide on forum yet.
