upperhand 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2011 I got an idea but i haven't thought about pros and cons so i will just throw it out here and lets see what developes. Place in a legal agreement between player and realmpt. I know there is a legal agreement when you make an account but throw this in also. Here goes since we have server attacks and maybe we need to strengthen the servers security. In House Security: An Online Appiication: Name, Address, zip code or other country info that states where you live. Before you are accepted into the game your ip has to be checked and verified as to what area and country you live in. Full time job for somebody? You have to join a probationary clan that says i am on probation for 30 days and my account can be withdrawn at anytime without notice if your ip is listed on hacker attacks. An Online Passport system where you have security checks when you log in at a Passport Npc which logs you in and keeps records of when you arrived ingame and ip address. Outside House Security: A firewall that blocks all ips except ingame ips that have already passed checks. Make a Online Threat News Cast that shows info of attacks and where they came from. This way if someone knows of anyone who is doing this and turns them in they can get a reward of in game stuff on the where abouts of these individuals and their ips can be blocked. why i say these things. because i work at a credit card processing facility and i am a guard there and nobody gets in or out without me knowing about it. But i have monitoring equipment and survillence camears to look at and i have to make badges for anyone entering the facility and when they leave they have to turn in their badge but maybe not a bad idea here. Just thoughts anyway. I know its tuff to implement changes but sometimes we have to keep things going. Anyhow i just threw this stuff out here to get some replies on any kind of thoughts we can think about to keep realmpt going. Whats your ideas? Lets throw in a bunch of them to see if any is good. voltron
Crius 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2011 The vast majority of people have dynamic IPs, so it won't work for that reason alone. Not to mention that it'll be a cold day in hell before I give out that kind of personal information online.

zpaganp 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2011 There is no way I would give out that kind if info online, to much idenity theft, they have enough info when I donate every month, they need something like Lockdown, dont even know if that is still around. but it would give the ip, persons name and who they had service with along with address if they hacked or tried to do something to your comp. upperhand 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2011 Good Points and like i said i just threw this out there to see the pro and cons sort of to pass the time away and maybe help along the way. Thanks guys i liked the input. Oh well now back to being bored again. I heard sandurr was in a storm without power so this may take awhile to get things going again. I hope sandurr kicks the living crapp out of that hackers ip. Caused us enough trouble already. voltron.
