Crius 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2011 Are you using a public network, or a network which you share with other people (NAT network)? NAT networks allow several computers to share the same public IP, so if someone on the network has logged in, then that public IP will be taken (if whatever you're connection to only allows one connection per IP). I've also heard, though I haven't checked it, that some countries have a rather small IP range so people that live there often share IP addresses by default (I vaguely recall Singapore being one). It's rather unlikely that someone else would use your IP. Someone could be spoofing yours for one-way communication to the server, but they wouldn't be able to receive any traffic on that IP (you would on the other hand). Laxity 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2011 I live in UAE, im at home who would use our IP address? Do you say that someone is using my IP address?
Crius 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2011 Google says that in the UAE (United Arab Emirates, I assume?), there are some ISPs (Internet Service Providers) that do use shared IP addresses, so that could very well be the case for you. Basically, the server you're connecting to can't tell the difference between you and someone else who shares your IP. I don't know how reliable and how up-to-date that information is, but it might be worth asking your ISP if you're getting a dedicated or a shared IP address. Though why Wartale would restrict to one connection per IP I don't know. It hasn't before as far as I know, but I guess it could be a counter-measure against the recent DDoS attack (would work if the attack was not very sophisticated). rptps 1 Report post Posted August 25, 2011 but is it a right way to fix DDos?? i doubt. atm..connection failure is still on. unable login game a while now.dont know why another can or just because of luck?
Crius 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2011 It depends on how competent the attacker is. If addresses are not spoofed, sure, it should work just fine unless they send enough traffic to bring down the firewall itself.
