Why do items like this even have a chance to fail?

I mean why? Like literally why? What is the rational behind having a fail chance for items like this? Socket Filler doesn't have a fail chance. Why does this have one?

I'm wondering why also. Materials is getting more and more pricey each day and a lot of efforts to collect them.

Upgrade donate = socket gone can't bring over. ( need extract gems out as well ) 2nd socket will be gone as well.

Extender Drill is another expensive one in game. I think we really have to work this out. Nothing comes easy i understand.

But this project is getting way too expensive.

Yes. People are selling their old and weaker gear with Penta gems in their extended socket. Its cheaper to sell it as a whole than to remove the gem and reuse it on your next weapon. Its already so god damn expensive to play around with sockets. I really don't see why there is any chance to fail when making socketing tools. Excluding Extender drill of course. Making drills, Gem extractor and socket filler should all be 100%. It simply doesnt make any sense at all why theres even a 1% chance to fail. Not to mention 19%?!?!

the worst is you spend 7kc to make an extended to put a gem that gives +15 (plus 6kc depending on the gem) to gain +15 atk

well 7kc if you are incredibly lucky. Rolling extender is astronomically expensive. Its out of touch for most free to play players. Even for donators its still incredibly expensive. 
I just don't get why those tools have a fail chance. Like what @Hawaii2 has said, materials are going up and its really pricey and time consuming to gather them. And now we are getting cucked by fail chance that is relatively high. Like we are already paying for the materials and all of those when crafted are gone from the game. The gold and item sink is there and yet it has a chance to fail???? Like why really?

Lets do a fast calculation.

Step 1;

1st socket drill = 1kc 

1st gem = 1kc to 15kc ( Emerald, Amethyst, Topaz, Aqua, Ruby ) Pentagon.

2nd extender drill = 15kc 

Mode of getting socket u want = 16.66% - 20% ( If you lucky to get Prismatic )

2nd gem = 1kc to 15kc ( Emerald, Amethyst, Topaz, Aqua, Ruby ) Pentagon

 

If you want to upgrade 140 to 144 or even 148 please repeat step 1 again.

Before repeating u will need Gem Extractor = 1kc ( Extract 1st socket +15 pentagon )

the 2nd slot gem have to give up due to too expensive to extract. ( need another extender drill ) 

 

This kind of project would easily cost u 50-100kc or even 100kc - 200kc if you repeat up to 146-148 items.

This is just a calculation for players that planning to socket your items.

I believe it was designed not to be easy. Because 15 additional stats is a lot.  Even more 30 stats. This items I believe are end game items designed for Highlevels you can still benefit from using lower gems for lower levels because its cheap to make random drills now. But of course if you want to place +15 gems on end game items you would need to grind and hunt or buy from someone who is lucky enough to get it.

Fail rate is also used to avoid over stocking of materials in the server. Also it adds a bit of challenge for the game. Similar to aging.

 

 

Having a +15 str Gem and being able to move it is not really expensive because you only need 4 in reality and you just move it. Once everybody has got 4 +15 ruby gems. It would be worthless and that is the unevitable truth.

Nah I'm not trying to ask them to make it easy. ( maybe better if pay a fee to keep the sockets when upgrading ) will be a better option.

If they would allow this. We will have an excess amount of materials to create drills and fillers making it cheaper. It would be so convenient if they would just allow you to pay and you would be able to keep your sockets but you would lose a lot of fun in doing this.

 

Similar to purchasing a +24 item. No more risk Of heart aches and broken dreams.

I don't think you understand what I'm trying to say.

Most people will give up extracting their 2nd socket gem ( +15 Pentagon )

because its way too expensive than the Pentagon itself.

Will you extract out your Pentagon for example; Aqua / Ame if you have to spend like 16-18kc before extracting it out?

I remember I started this thread a while ago, but for different reasons. I see no problem for the failure chance, but the price. Staff is applying a heavy hand on requirements and grinding level on their releases, ofc ppl will participate even in the craziest situation, but if you stop and think about it you can see that it's...just crazy LOL.

Yes Dudu, i totally agree with you.

Price and materials needed is way too high.

The Extender Gem Extractor is really insane. 

You will need another 15kc + 1.5kc Materials just to extract the gem.

Well lets not forget that all items can be looted ingame people who decides to buy from people who sell for a high price is also the ones that create demand and sets the price for this expensive items. If people buy then thats the price. If noone buys price will fall due too supply.

 

I understand what you mean. My example was str because thats the highest and most priced gem due to demand but if you look at emerald and amethyst creating +15 for both gems is cheaper than extracting them. So it shows that you are sometimes better off just making a new +15 if you use those gems.

 

Like I said if you cant afford what people sell dont buy it. They will bring the price down if noone buys. GMs have no control on how people sell items they can only tamper with more on the drop rate if they increase the chance of creating this items its the same as increasing the drop rate of the needed items creating a crash on supply. Hope it makes sense.

You are not getting the picture. 

 

What he was trying to say is it is expensive to extract additional socket gems and on top of that, there is a chance to fail when crafting the extractor. This is not a 'if you cant afford then dont buy' situation. Even people who donate thousands of euros every month wouldn't do this too. @Lyseria's suggestion was good. Right now people wait till they get Pentagon gems before slotting it in due to the cost of removing. By reducing the cost, it will encourage players who could not afford +15 to slot their lower tier gems into the socket too. Its just stupid to make it so expensive and still have pretty high fail chance. I suggest pick either one. Make it cheaper with fail chance or make it what the current required materials with no fail chance. Either solution would result in the materials and gold erased from the economy anyway.

Answer:  I would Say Yes if you Value those Gems and NO if you can just make it again easily.  You are placing too much value on items that are purchased. Like I said you can loot those items so you dont need to spend anything but your time and effort. Like I said it was my opinion on the topic and I do understand people think otherwise. I have no right to tell people how they want to play the game. I just don't think that the game is unfair when everything can be gained without spending any. I would have to disagree with your last reply. Even if a game has an option for you to spend irl money for progression for the end game it doesn't mean you have to use it. Like I said this server is well balanced that their is value to both Gold and Coins. You can get coins in this game without spending real money if you know how to. If you don't know that then maybe you don't know this server at all.

There is many ways of making coins / gold. 

We are just sharing on the cost of doing all this sockets thingy and not asking for +1.
