Just make the changes and add it to the marketplace. You don't need to log in to see the item's current price, or when you click on an item to buy, it shows the lowest price and the maximum price it's being sold for.

CONGRATRULATIONS on your decision, for real.

 

The only fake price left is 10x. But if you can make effort to implement limmits on this mess, i can also make effort to understand we do already have confirmation window to help us avoid buying mistakes. So 10x fake price, in this specifc context (after 50x limmit) is now, in fact, acceptable.

 

This is a BIG nerf to scam shops, will likely wash out 99% of them and reduce the impact of remaining ones by up to 90% too. And without harming normal sellers in any way.
